      Open your mind

      One of the biggest things that's helped me with my journey, with not only lucid dreaming, but with life in general is this:

      Optimism

      Realize that your mind is very powerful. Your mindset determines your reality.
      No matter what it is you are going through, all ways be optimistic, no matter what. Loose all bad expectations, and learn to be within the present moment, enjoying everything with the knowledge that this experience will happen again and again, better and better each time.

      Positive attitude is so underrated. At every turn, people find a way to be negative about themselves, without realizing that that mindset is exactly what brings about a negative outcome.
      Positive attitude -> positive outcome.
