      Dream incubation?

Has anybody had any real success at incubating dreams? I have a scenario laid out in my mind that I would like to realize in my next lucid dream. I figure if I run through it in my mind a whole bunch of times, eventually it will invade my dreams as things often do when I think about them a lot. Then hopefully I will become lucid when I see it happening, or possibly I could become lucid first and then make it happen. Any tips you can give me to increase the chances of this happening?
“The sleep is still in my eyes
The dream is still in my head
I heave a sigh and sadly smile
And lie a while in bed
I wish that it might come to pass
Not fade like all my dreams” —Rush

I have done this before, but into recently. I accutely used to do this so I could dream about what I wanted before I really got into Lucid Dreaming. What I would do is write my sanario down. Then I would just think about it during the day and really hard during the night. It seemed to work more times than it didn't for me.

Yes, but it can extend only so far as Suggestion. I once had a Dream in which the Dream Creation Process was shown to me in the Symbol of an Old Newpaper News Room kind of place. It was a large busy Room full of desks, people at their desks with typewriters, smoking cigerettes, talking among each other, wearing those old Fedora (Frank Sinatra) Hats. One can have an IDEA for a Dream and pass it on to that Dream Creation Center, but then it goes to all those Creative Entities at their desks and water coolers and then they take their turn with it. Now, if your idea is very very good and everybody involved with the Process find that all the details are Metaphysically and Spiritually sound and valid, then you might actually see your entire Dream as you envisioned it. But ordinarily I would expect that the Dream Creation Center would take your Idea and Edit and Modify it. Consider it a kind of Dialogue between you and your Higher Mind. You have an Idea for a Dream, and your Higher Mind answers with your Concept altered to be more in line with your actual Spiritual Condition and the Metaphysical Truth.

It depends on how far you want the incubation to go. I remember when I was 7 yrs old and had a great dream about some other kids in a swamp village place, and we went on an adventure. I kept going to sleep, incubating the dream so that I could be in the same scenario, but I wasn't trying to control any aspect of the dream. I later got into doing other incubations, and it seemed like mostly the beginning scenario was easy enough, but making out an entire even for you to do is harder, because your mind is dynamic, and will easily change it's mind mid dream. If you get good enough at incubating dreams, just do what I used to, incubate a dream in which you do an RC. The single action should be easy enough, and you can control your dreams from then on.

As for better chances, autosuggestion and writing it down are great ideas. make sure to have it in your head before you sleep. The more enjoyable the dream is, or the more anticipation you have for it, the better the chances you will have of doing it successfully.

I was able to do it a little BEFORE I heard about lucid dreaming. Now I can't at all but it might come back to me.
