      aware issues, need help

I need assistance on how to become more aware in the dreaming world, I HEARD that before you can become aware in the dreaming world you have to become aware in real life first, so my question is how to become more aware in real life so it can past into the dreaming world. Im a newbiew again when it comes to lucid dreaming since I screwed up and stopped for almost 2 years. Any advice or links being directed to a guide.

Drink apple juice (helps with dream recall and vividness).

Hi DreamingDragon, awareness is pretty straightforward once you understand what exactly needs to be done. You can look around and observe your surroundings, reasoning out why (or why not) you know you're awake. You can rub your hands together and see if the texture of your skin is realistic; smell the air and see if anything seems "off"; look closely at a detailed object (then look away, and look back to see if the details have changed)... You can pay close attention to your breathing, noticing how cool the air feels and if gravity is acting properly on you.

Here are a few guides to help you get started; they all focus on awareness.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Thank you, I will check out those links(And thank you to the above posters)

The problem I have with aware-ness is I tend to DayDream a lot. And I mean... A lot. When Im at work(I serve food at a retirement home) So all I do is set tables, sit for about an hour(check for stock) Then serve. Clean up. and wait for another hour and go home. So as you can see. I have a crap ton of free time. And to past the time. I simply day dream. I kinda go into robot mode and daydream while working. It's be coming like second nature to me to daydream when I work to make everything go faster.

I think this is why I have a very hard time trying to become lucid. I managed a few times. But its so hard.

Welcome, hope you find them useful.

And I daydream a whole lot too! If you can daydream and visualize what you might want to do when you're lucid, while maintaining some awareness of the sounds and what's happening around you, that can actually help.

Awareness with in the dream happens when you can first pick out bits and pieces then put those pieces together into a full sentence paragraph then story. This is the process of journaling. go to bed wake up and record whatever you can recall from your dream. compare your journal entries and see what dream signs come up often, you'll develope a style in which you become aware with in the dream. Example:My lucid dream awareness style is whenever something repeats its self. gd luck namaste.

"when you fall unconscious, what your mind expresses is a dream.
When you are aware, what your mind expresses is creativity. It creates your life.
When you are in a higher state of consciousness, it not only creates the life of whatever you want, but also on whom ever you want". -LifeBlissFoundation

Write "awareness" on your arm, or any other word/letter/symbol that reminds you of awareness. Or wear a bracelet or ring or watch that reminds you of it. Maybe if you have a cellphone, put alarms on it to remind you to just "be aware". Associate being aware with something that happens often. IMO writing it is the best option; it can be easy to forget to make a habit of the other methods.

First I would like to thank everyone who helped so far.

Second. I had a some what lucid dream last night. I did a rc in this strange room. Once I become somewhat lucid. The whole world room started to fall apart and outside the room I could see was a white void. Somehow I yelled for help and a portal opened. Jumped through it. And I was no longer lucid. The rest was a dream. So... I was lucid then not -_-

3rd. RFTD, How did you do it? I write awareness on my arm and I just look at it randomly douring the day?

Yea, you can write anything (be aware, aware, awareness, ect.) that has the gist of being aware. I usually write it on my hand since I naturally see my hands throughout the day. If I'm typing or writing something or making something, doing almost anything, my hands are in sight, so if I have something written I my hand it'll catch my attention and remind me. You can essentially write "be aware" anywhere on you, but obviously the best places are the ones that you see the most throughout the day. Oh, and I would suggest using a bold color; the more noticeable the better it'll catch your attention.

Like I was saying, you can also use symbols or something, but I found that it didn't work as well since it's easy to forget that the symbol = awareness.

Oh, and if you use your cellphone a lot, I suggest again the cell phone technique I already mentioned. I always have my phone on me, and since my phone has a scheduler it can remind me to check my awareness everyday.

Pinch yourself. That's what i've done since i was 3 years old. Really, lol. Whenever something awesome, frightening, or anything funny / out there happens, pinch yourself. It'll follow you into your dreams, and when you pinch yourself you'll feel the numbed down feeling, and know your dreaming.
