I have tried the melatonin. My personal experience is that it did not really do anything to help me fall asleep. What it did do though is kind of help my body reset it's sleeping paterns to what I wanted it. I did this over the summer when i had a job that I had to start at 2:00 am. I had to go to bed at about 7 at night and I was having a very difficult time adjusting. The melatonin told my body that when I took it and fell asleep, that was the normal time my body should be sleeping. I took the Melatonin for about 5 days every day before I went to bed at that time. After, I just tried to sleep at that time without it. Then, when about 7:30 rolled along, I got tired, as that is when my body knew I should go to sleep. I also did the same routine when the summer work was done to get back to normal sleeping cycles. |
