I'm not sure if this is related to Lucid dreaming but on many occasions I have encountered total paralysis during sleep. I am fully aware of what is happeing, my eyes are flickering open and closed slightly and very fast, I can just about see the wall in my bedroom but cant open my eyes fully. I also hear stange noises like heavy breathing and sometimes feel a hand on my shoulder or head. I have no movement at all, I just feel pinned to the bed, kind of scary at times especially when i feel a hand on my shoulder and knowing that there is no-one else in the room. Has anyone else experienced this and what is this state called?? |

The are right this is SP. What you should do is relax and concentrate on letting yourself float. If you think very hard about floating you will have the sensation of being as light as a feather and it will take you into a wonderful WILD and onto a Lucid Dream. SP is one of the strongest keys of obtaining Lucidity and since you are aware of it you have a very large chance of going into a sweet lucid dream. Use your mind during SP and you can create your own lucid world before you even arrive to it. Don't be frighten of it and don't fight it just relax and imagine yourself floating and you will find yourself in a Lucid Dream fully aware in no time. |

the pressure on your chest and neck is part of "the old hag" and you shouldnt be afraid. its all part of SP and it happens everytime you go to sleep. You were just lucky enough to be concious while it happened! |
