I'm not sure if it has affected my ability to have LDs, but I listen to metal all day every day. In fact, many of my LDs are enhanced by music. Ever wonder what it is like to be "inside" a song? It's quite amazing. Your appreciation for the music is enhanced as well. Imagine listening to Burzum's "My Journey to the Stars" while doing just that; exploring the cosmos.

And yes, the type of music will affect you based on your feelings about it. If I had an "MTV" dream, it would most certainly be a nightmare, lucid or not.
