Unwilling to go lucid in some dreams

Recently my dream recall has gone through the roof after keeping up with them for a few months, and I've even been able to at least guide my dreams to a certain subject or situation. I'm even getting a limited sense that I am dreaming in many of them.

After waking up from a particularly good dream this morning, I noticed that some of the dreams are so "nice" that I don't really want to go lucid and just carry on, thinking that it's reality. I sort of say screw it if I'm having a good time, since the dreams lose a lot of the vividness once I am lucid.

So is this just a normal thing, or am I just being an escapist by trying to accept them as reality? It doesn't bother me as much as I make it sound like it does, but has anyone else started to make a habit of this just to keep the vividness of the dream up? I am having more vivid memories of more dreams and I have a fleeting awareness of what is going on in roughly 1/4 of them, but is this sort of denial of lucidity even healthy?
True insanity is doing the same thing twice and expecting different results.

I wouldn't say its unhealthy, but you are missing out on a lot by not becoming fully lucid. As for my lucid dreams, they never lose the original clarity of the dream; instead they become more clear and real as soon as i become lucid. It is nice to be an escapist sometimes though, like if you're having a dream about dating a beautiful girl, may as well go along with it

I find that lucidity makes my dreams more vivid, or just the same level as normal dreams. I've never experienced the opposite.
I wouldn't say it's "unhealthy". Just do reality-check, if you are suspicious about your reality.

yeah i've had this dilema myself, however i think that if you maybe become lucid and conciously go through your dream it could do many things that benefit for example maybe there are things in your dream that you dont wanna do for example a chick or listen to someone, eat something etc...
all dreams i value as being great but lucidity could help you as a way to avoid doorways to nightmares and embarrasments ya know?

In some dreams, fortune befalls me, or some other magical occurence that makes me think "wow! This is too good to be true!" occurs... And I become lucid. It annoys me in a way, as during stressful and saddening dreams, even with reality checks I mostly miss lucidity. It's almost as if I'm more prepared for sadness than to accept incredible luck.

Your dream are yours to do with as you desire. If you enjoy dreaming lucidly then I'd strive for that as often as possible. I've played the role of stander-by in many lucid dreams: sometimes by chance sometimes by choice. For me, lucidity makes the dream more vivid and memorable, whether I take an active role or not.
