I fell asleep last night, and the next morning I was lying in my bed with my eyes closed, "watching a dream". I could see what was happening but I could feel my body lying in bed with my eyes closed and since I could feel this I knew what I was seeing was a dream. I also knew the time without awakening and I was right about it being the morning. What is this half dream half awake state? was I lucid? The dream was watching other people and did not involve me. Please Help! |

I've had that experience before, it was one of my first lucids. I think that you really are in a lucid but since you are aware you are dreaming your mind is telling you that you are asleep, therefore the scenario of feeling yourself sleeping. My 2 cents. |

I've also had this same exact experience recently, only watching the dream and being able to feel my body. I've never done a WILD before but from how people describe it this sounds very similar. I would guess it works like a WILD too, if you keep focusing on it it'll become a full blown dream. |

Yeh, thanks for the help guys I guess I was really close to a real lucid dream. Oh well, I haven't been able to remember any dreams for like three nights, I've been keeping a journal, do you know if it is more beneficial to write in the journal write after you sleep? Do you guys have any tips on improving dream recall? |

I've had a couple of similar experiences. However, instead of watching the LD, I could feel both my sleeping body, which wasn't moving, and my dream body, which was walking on a concrete floor of my old middle school. If you had relaxed and focused on the dream, you could have possibly re-entered it lucid. |
