      2 questions 1 thread

Okay I have three little questions for you experienced lucid dreamers.

      1. I get sleep paralysis quite often, maybe about 5 times in one night for no good reason. I was wondering is it possible for me to go from Sleep Paralysis to a Lucid Dream, and if so how?

      2. Today I became 100% sure that my sub-conscience knows fluent spanish. I was sitting in one of my classes today while some girls were making fun of one my friends in spanish, and I went oh there calling him a pxssy. Then like a 50 seconds later I'm like how the hell did I know that? So I asked one of the girls what it meant and she was like we were saying pxssy. So I was wondering when in a lucid dreams how can I learn to speak spanish like my sub-conscience in waking life.

      Hey there!

I'll try my best to answer these questions for you...

      1. Sleep Paralysis (will be referred to as SP) is a very common occurance especially during the WILD technique. Once you've hit SP, the best thing to do is remain completely calm, and try to relax. Don't be frightened by hallucinations, or anything like that. SP is basically your body falling asleep, before your mind enters a dream. So if you've entered SP consciouslly, the next step would of course be for you to enter a dream. Now... if you're just getting SP before you go to bed, it might take a long time for you to actually get vivid "dreams". Since you really only dream in the REM state, it takes a while for you to go through the whole dream cycle and all that. Thats why it's best for you to try and induce SP after sleeping for 5-6 hours. This way, you will have a longer REM cycle, and more dreams.

      2. Jeez. This one baffles me. I can't honestly tell you how or why your subconscious seems to know Spanish. If you are in a lucid dream, you could possibly "quiz" yourself on spanish or something, but then again, theres no real way to know if you're correct. A very advanced way to find out, would be to summon your subconscious into physical form, and ask it why you know spanish.

I did the best I could,
      I hope I helped!
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.

Umm, I think I know spanish because I took it in middle school for about 2 years, but I never cared cause it never counted as a grade, and going into my third year of spanish and I still don't know. But somewhere along the way my sub-conscience picked it up.

      1) Yes SP usually comes in before we go to sleep. You can use this with a WILD to go straight into being lucid. SP is pretty much when your body goes to sleep while your head stays awake.

      2) I doubt your subconscious is fluent in Spanish unless you are consciously fluent. It isn't going to know the language unless you know the actual language.

Does that apply if your around people 7-8 hours a day that are fluent spanish? Cause I've read that your sub-conscience is supposed to store information throughout your day.

Hrm, well I'm not entirely sure if your subconscious does store everything that you see/learn/do throughout the day. That's just one theory, there are many theories about memory.

Say this theory is infact true and we do store everything, then you would have to atleast looked at every single spanish related thing, from different tenses to verbs to adjectives ect. It seems like an aweful lot for your subcionsiouc to take in and remember.

Yeah, I didn't know that you had to conjegate* verbs until a few months ago. I was like what the fxck is this bullshxt. =\
I guess I'll just have to follow Amazeo's advise and "quiz" my sub-conscience on his spanish vocabulary.

That happens to me often, I'll hear conversations entirely in spanish and know what they are saying, even though I don't know what half or more of the words mean, its always surprises me. Also I can understand every single word a person is saying, yet later I don't know how to say it.ex-everytime I hear the word 'primo' I understand it, but later when I want to say 'cousin' in spanish I cannot come up with its translation, no matter how hard I think, lol. I've had several dreams where certain characters spoke entirely in spanish and I understood them perfectly.
