Let's say you had a choice whether or not to either dream all the time (without NREM), or continue your current schedule of wake and sleep, which would you choose? Essentially, it's the exact opposite of its sister thread, but I'd like to see how the responses differ. If you want, you can pretend that everyone who knows you is happy for your choice (to avoid responses such as "but my spouse...!"), or chooses the same choice as you. |

Woah, NO! Dreams are great but I love waking life! |

Like Little lemo said. Sleep and the waking state complement eachother. Where do you think the "inspiration" for our dreams come from? waking life. |

Some are born to sweet deleight
Some are born to endless night
Who? and where? If you have no brain for thoughts to take place in, i dont see this happening....anyway onto the question. |

Don't want to hijack this thread, but in response to the above; as I understand it, the mind needs the brain to interact with corporeal or physical reality, but is not dependent on it (the brain) to exist. The ego-based personality is born and grows with the body, but being, itself, non-physical it exists in the medium of the mind and continues on once the body gives out and dies. And btw, we experience non-physically based reality every night in our dreams. |
