      Lucid Sleep?

I've had a few experiences where I fall to sleep, usually in a mid day nap, and I start breathing heavily or slightly snooring, I am fully conscious of the fact that I am asleep, and listen to myself, during these times I wish I would start dreaming so I would have a lucid dream, but during most of these times no lucid or non lucid dream starts, though once I did have a false awakening after such an experience. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
It isn't as much fun as a real lucid dream but is interesting, I beleive the reason no lucid dream started is because I was probaly in non-rem sleep. Yet though I was asleep, my mind was as awake as it is when I am fully awake.

That's pretty interesting. I've had some similar experiences, and I've heard of some people who have experienced the same as you.

When I take afternoon naps I go through a similar thing. It's like I see my dreams form from random thoughts into full fledged dreams. It's just a WILD, and you need to learn to take it to the next step and enter a dream.

I experience that quite often, and like you I find it interesting. Sometimes I do get bored just sitting there "watching" myself sleep, but I feel that it is basically the same level of lucidity as in a dream, only the body is in non-REM (as you mentioned).

I have yet to consistently transition into a lucid dream from that state. Do a search for "yoga nidra", it is basically an old yogic practice of maintaining awareness through all stages of sleep, not just the dream state.

Hmm I know this is an old thread but it describes something that happened yesterday to me. I was on the bus then all of a sudden I realized i was asleep. There was no dream but I knew I was asleep and on the bus. I tried to form a dream but I coukdnt so I just woke myself up. Good thing too because We were just turning onto my road when I woke myself up.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

Yeah, it sounds like you're asleep but not in a dream. Probably because your body isn't in REM at the moment.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Maybe you were just dreaming that you were listening to yourself sleep? Not all dreams are the same.

I just randomly remembering just think dream. no dream. sleep. no dream. make dream? nope. Wake.

I normally dont think like that in just fragments but that is what i thought yesterday.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.
