Awake, but thought you were dreaming

I'm not sure if this is a common thing, it just happened to me once today. I woke up and wasn't really sure if I was dreaming or not. I tried moving my clock with my mind and bit my tongue and it turned out I was awake . Has this happened to anyone?

well technically biting your tongue while dreaming would still hurt wouldn't it? but yes it has happened to me.

I was having dinner with my ex-girlfriend and her family and for some reason, I started to think that it was a dream, and I got a weird feeling everywhere in my body. I was freaking out because of how real everything seemed. I felt as if everything was a dream. My heart started to race, then I did a few RCs and realized that I in fact wasn't dreaming. But it was a crazy experience. I must've looked really zoned out, because everyone was looking at me funny after that.

yeah... It happens pretty often, most of the time when you are a little bit obsessed with LD. And these states are superb to explore. They are significant to lucid dreaming and exploring them may open a gate to your own LD induction later on.

I've had this happen to me during Geometry class. Everything around me became super vivid. I did an RC but I still wasn't convinced I wasn't dreaming. I was looking around a lot, with this wild, but dreamy expression on my face. I'm surprised my teacher didn't say anything.

I have dreams about fish a lot. So it really surprised me when I found a betta fry with two heads, and was actually awake!

This has happened to me a lot. Since the last time I tried to put my hand through a wall my RC now is to fly or float. Hasn't failed me yet. But occasionally I do look like a fool trying to jump up into the clouds...hehehehee... Really I DO recomend to do an RC (or three) when you are not sure if you are dreaming or awake. Especially if you are contemplating doing something potentially dangerous or embarassing (I once nearly asked my entire art class to join me in an orgy before I realized I was awake).
