      Sex Dream Frustration

      Hello,
First off let me say I am sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but I was a little unsure where it would go lol.

The details: Lately when I become lucid even though I have a task set in my mind I was to do in the dream my mind jumps to having dream sex and I just go with it. It frustrates me because I am not a sex craving maniac. The last thing I want to do in my dreams is have sex, but I can not seem to steer my self away from it once the thought is in my mind. And I can not seem to get it on with any one but my hubby in my dreams, but it is never him lol. On the off chance I can tell my self this is not what I want to do in the dream I wake up shortly after, or become non-lucid.

Please help, what would you suggest I do to over come this?? I am willing to try just about anything to make this stop. I would like to be able to complete the tasks I have set my self with out this getting in the way.

Thanks for reading and any help you can give me.

      D.G.

If you're lucid it shouldn't be too hard...

      Just walk/fly away or something.

At least one hormone involved in inducing dreams is a proven aphrodisiac. Its no wonder us guys wake up with morning wood. I sometimes have your same problem, the only way I know to reduce it is by trying to go ta bed as un-horny as possible. So one way or another i try to bust each evening, if possible right before bed, even if I don't have a strong desire to. The only other possible solution is avoiding meals before bed since food metabolism also increases hormones which are aphrodisiacs. I really can't think of anything else other than taking something that is the opposite of an aphrodisiac, but usually decreased libido is a side effect of a substance, rather than the indication.

      .

Sometimes my LDs get to that, but not often. I hear it happens to a lot people, so it isn't uncommon. Anyway I was told that it is a primitive form of consciousness that only worries about what we need to survive, like running away from danger, or having imaginary sex

I suppose the best way to stop it is to stop for a second to control yourself - which doesn't really work for me. so I have a plan to set my mind on something more important than anything else (before I go to sleep every noght), like finding my dream guide or doing a monthly task.

Thats all I can think of at the moment, so I hope it helped a little

i'm not gona lie but you most probably are craving having sex with someone else than your husband.
Before you drift off, don't forget. Which is to say, remember. Because remembering is so much more a psychotic activity than forgetting. Federico Garcia Lorca in a poem said that the iguana will bite those who do not dream. And as one realizes that one is a dream figure in another person's dream, now THAT is SELF AWARENESS.

It's extremely common to feel unusually horny while lucid. As lucid4sho hinted at, it probably has something to do with your brain chemistry while asleep. Anyway, all you can really do is try your best to restrain yourself while lucid. And believe me, I know how hard that can be - I still struggle with it! I think it's worth trying to restrain yourself, though, because there's so much more interesting stuff to do while lucid (plus lucid sex has a tendency to wake me up).

Getting distracted by sex in LDs is really common. Here is a tutorial on how to avoid sexual distractions.
