Weird LD thing not sure what it was Help?

alright so last night i was trying the WILD technique first attempt i almost hit SP but didn't quite i tried again a couple times with no prevail so i turned over and fell asleep like normal well about two hours later i started gaining consciousness like waking up but then immediately i started spinning and it felt just like i had previously felt when attempting to reach SP and then an image of a grim reaper in a room appeared, and i then thought this is it this is lucidity and i was fully conscious i then excitedly looked out a window and remember saying make it light but after everything faded and i woke up. what was this?

You entered a dream, you were too excited, you woke up. With practice, lucid dreams will lengthen. Next time, take your time and really notice you surroundings. Look at all the details, and feel the friction of rubbing hands. That will help you stay in the dream.

The reaper was probably your version of the Old Hag. Nothing to worry about.

Wow! Looks like you had pretty decent results for your first WILD attempt. What most likely happened was that although your mind awoke, your body was not completed jolted awake so it immediately went back to sleep mode, and you stayed conscious (thus lucid) as you slipped back into the dreamworld/REM sleep period.

This is often harnessed in the "Chaining" or "Dream re-entry" method, viewable here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=6124.
If this happens in the future, just try out some dream stabilizing techniques like rubbing your hands together to ensure that you don't wake up.

      Good luck!
