So I managed to end a horrible dry spell last night with a great lucid! (Thanks everyone from the chat last night, I think all that talk about LDing did it! )
Now I don't really look behind me, because I want to see the view before I wake up and I'm wondering how my brain can create these futuristic cityscapes/landscapes so amazingly. I turn back to the corner where the ledge meets the wall and feel the rough texture of it. I remember the texture but no warmth to it. This place seemed nice and sunny though. So then I'm like "Alright, I"ll be right back!" and I just jump into the air ... and we get higher, much higher, and we can see the clouds around us. I can glimpse the hillsides scattered with these amazing structures but the clouds keep getting in the way. I try to turn to my left, but the sun is bright white and every time I do my vision goes out to all white, so I quickly look away to prevent waking up. I decide that I'm going to dim the sun, by having it set, as I look away at some hills and clouds. The sky turns a nasty kind of green before returning to normal, and I turn around and see the clouds, no bright sun, but now there are layers of cloud obscuring the sights. I try to fly above them, but there are just more layers that I have to peek between. I'm up there with that one girl, and then the rest of the group slowly joins us. So I affirm that it's a dream and stare at the huge wall of cloud in front of me. "CLOUDS! PART!" I say, raising my hands like a prayer and then pulling them apart, imagining that I have control over the clouds. They start to part very quickly, showing us the country side beyond, and I am reveling in flying, controlling the sun and the clouds, seeing the beauty of my own mind, the friendliness of the DCs, when I wake right up
I am wondering if anyone has had similar experiences with the sun, because I've read a lot about people looking into the sun and watching sunsets so I'm not sure what happened. A lot of my lucids take place at night or indoors, so I don't think I've ever actually seen the sun in a lucid dream. I was just so afraid to lose my vision because I thought it would be like blinking or just going all black ... a problem that usually ends in me waking up.
Also there was no real sunlight or bright light shining into my eyes. It was all part of the dream, nothing physical and real invading the dream.
If you've ever experienced anything like this, do you have any advice besides ignoring it/making the sun set like I did? The only thing I can think of is that dream sunglasses might do the trick
