Yeah of course it's could make you feel more comfortable while in the dream.

The only thing I would be worried about is false emotions. For instance, having a dream that it's a 75 degree day out on the beach. Then wake up to a snow storm. That would just make you more sad than before IMHO.

I think she needs to work on living in the moment more than trying to change the weather.

Definitely, but other than that you could create whatever environment you want in a lucid dream, so that sounds like a good option for you.

I thought this was going to be a therapy problem (stuttering, phobias, OCD, or something else that inhibits daily function).

I think this is more of a mindset problem, in which case (depending on the maturity and level of obsession) dreaming of it may not be the best option (for some smokers, dreaming of smoking helps them cope with withdrawl, for others, it makes them want to smoke in real life).

If your sister *thinks* it will ease the craving, help her lucid dream of it. If your sister *thinks* it will only make her crave it more, steer from it.

Of course, the easiest option by far is to move to the southern hemisphere.

Yea, exactly what Abra said. Like literally, word for word. Plus, it's a lot of effort to put in, to get lucids. The one benefit I can think of is that she might get distracted and not worry about the holidays, she'll be so busy worrying about LDing.
