Dream Guides

I'm new to the site, but when I came here a few months ago, there were alot of posts about dream guides. What exactly is a dream guide, other that someone who shows up in your dreams alot and also knows you're dreaming? Do any of you have dream guides? What are they like, and how can I get one? Do they just appear, or can I make them appear? Could I make my own? ...... So much to be understood... Any answers/comments?

A dream guide is just as it says, a Guide that guides you through your dreams. I was told that Dream Guides know way more about you than you do yourself... Of course you can change the way they look! Tru dat. Although, I feel that I can't be too autocratic towards my Dream Guide once I meet it... I mean, if this Dream Guide knows more about me than I do, the Dream Guide might complain if I recklessly change the look of it. I'm atleast going to be more polite towards my Dream Guide, seeing as this is said to be a very much more intelligent Dream Character. So just changing the look to a demon dog because it seemed cool at the time dosn't sound too good, unless it's as a joke. In which case, the Dream Guide might hand the joke right back. Also, about Dream Guides knowing more then ourselves: I think about it with the Consciousnes triangle thing, I'll explain. (Can't remember how it went that well, but I'll try.) The tip of the triangle is the Conscious, this is what we think :V The middle is the Subconscious, where the subconscious thoughts happen. Alot of shit right here. (Ask the DG why did I do _____ subconsciously?) And then the bottom is that part where our locked away thoughts are. Things we subconsciously choose to forget, because it scares us or whatever. So yeah, Dream Guides should be able to tell you about the shit happening below the tip of the ice berg that we don't know about when we're awake. That's what I think atleast.

every time I have summoned my dream guide, all I ever got was someone was bad advice but one day I wanted to fly off into dragon la la land, so I asked the dream to send me the Dragon King. What I got were lessons that increased my lucidity. awesome times, awesome times

Did he/she actually talk to you as if he knew you were in a subconscious state?

Well, mine looks like an Anime character. An actual character from a show I watch. His name is the same, too. (As far as I know.) My friend went to an Anime convention and brought me back a poster with him on it. When I looked at it I was like, "Holy CRAP! That's my Dream Guide!!" I almost had a heart attack. Also, they can appear in both LDs and non. That's how I started looking for mine. He 1st appeared in a reoccurring nightmare I have. I've talked with him in one of my Lucids as well.

I asked him if he was my DG. (I needed to confirm) He said, "Do you want me to be?" then he walked away from me with another Anime character. I quickly called out to him to wait. He said "We'll see each other again."

A DG is supposed to be a manifestation of your subconscious, he/she/it can answer any question about yourself. Its an awsome thing...its the only one that doesnt speak jibberish in your dreams. A couple of ways to summon are..say out loud that you want your DG to appear behind you. Not always successful, you could just get a regular DC. Another way is to summon a door and say when i open this door, my DG will be behind it, again sometimes you will get a regular DC

A dream guide is whatever you want it to be. I see it as an adventurer and loyal friend. I have more than one. I chose the first one, and the second one chose me. Both appeared within the dream first. I am trying to manifest a third (unlike the first two, who appeared in the dream on their own), and have seen her, but have not verified her "dream guide" status.

My DG is a fat guy who tells me how to fly places, but doesn't go with me because he says it makes him nauseous. Then he just turns up.

How does one figure out if the entity is a guide or just another DC? They're just....different. They have a certain calming feeling. (Mine does at least) It's different for everyone.

My DG walked up to me and asked me if I was lucid. I said yes. He said he was an out of work DG and needed someone to guide. He is hilarious. And he taught me how to fly. =D

I know people have said it's appropriate to seek out/create this guide, but wouldn't that make it a product of our imagination rather than our subconscious, and then maybe be less valuable? Would the guide have more meaning if they came to you without being prompted?

It's one of the other. Mine came to me multiple times in non LDs, then I sought him out in an LD. I also know a few members that made one of their own.
