Lucid dreaming occurs when you realize you are dreaming. Food generally cannot tell you that you are dreaming, although B12 is known to enhance the vividness of a dream. The B12 that is in bananas and cheese is in much too small a quantity to increase vividness. You would need a vitamin supplement to have an effect.

If I were you, I'd enhance vividness by starting a dream journal and training your mind to recall dreams. Then I'd work on doing reality checks. Lucid dreaming takes effort.

I agree with Abra. Your best bet is dream journaling, reality checks, thinking and reading about LD on the net/books (the tutorials on this site are helpful) and even attempting WILD. Although WILD can take a while to master it is more likely to bring success than eating those foods IMO.

      Good luck with it

I also agree with abra, I tell you from experience that there is no shortcut to lucid dreaming.

Keep a journal and do reality checks throughout the day, get a lot of sleep and just enjoy the process. Just have fun while you do it.

These things are believed to increase the general vividness of the dream, not as an on/off switch for lucid dreaming. Try to think of these things as you would something like the NovaDreamer, which is a ridiculously expensive device that people think will give them lucid dreams with the switch of a button. It is not so simple, and without putting in the slightest effort will not award you anything except an empty wallet.

If you feel like your dreams need to be more vivid, possibly to help with recall or just to make them more enjoyable, then this is a route you can take. I think if that is your goal then you are better off taking strict supplements rather than consuming 6+ fruit every night before bed.

Rather, I would keep up with dream journaling for dream signs and recall, reality checking, and reading up and really working on the DEILD technique.

I think the only way that these foods would increase the vividness of your dreams is by giving you a mild case of indigestion
If that happens, your dream will most likely be a nightmare - which is fine. Thats how a lot of my lucid dreams begin.
