      Nihao,

The point of the energy work is to accumulate chi in some of the primary energy centres of the energy body and I think this increases the chances of achieving a WILD or OBE in particular and also increases the duration once you have achieved it. I use a hybrid of exercises from both the Reiki system and also from Robert Bruces NEW (New Energy Ways). This entire manual can actually be downloaded from here!

With energy work there are so many different techniques but it all boils down to "where attention goes energy flows" so if you and doing the right visualisations and have the right awareness then almost anything will stimulate the energy body. I think the books Energy Work and Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce are must haves anyway but that NEW manual should get you started.

As for the supplements that dose I listed isn't actually the best one I've found as it was too high - this caused me to stay awake for almost two hours which is not optimum. You want to aim to fall alseep 45-60mins after taking Galantamine and Choline. Basically its all in that book by Thomas Yuschak that I mentioned above. The Mucuna Pruriens increases Dopamine levels in the brain which gives you more power or confidence when you are lucid, I find the LD's when influenced by Mucuna are more exciting but I'd only recommend 200mg at 10-15% concentration when taken with the usual stuff. The 5-HTP causes a REM rebound effect so pretty much saves up all your REM for later in the night (after you've taken Galantamine etc) and the Valerian is just for relaxation but I'm going to start experimenting with 100mg of L-Theanine instead.

Everybody is different so I guess trial and error (within the recommended dosages) and keeping at it! But I'd also like to reiterate that non of the above is really necessary to have LD's or even OBE's but I've found it just helps and improves other areas of your life as a side benefit.
