      Dream about your daily activities?

How many of you dream about the daily activities you do, for instance how often do you dream about an activity you do just about every day?

I find it weird that I dream so little of being on the computer and doing things on the computer considering I'm always on the computer every day. Instead I dream about activities I rarely do, such as spending time with family or friends in places, or just having some random fantasy with creatures, and people I dont know.

Not uncommon in the least, im sure everyone does this at some point.

As for the computer, we all spend too much time here, it's so we can be somewhere or someone we aren't.

Most of the time, we cut out boring things from our dreams, like long drives in the car, or tedious chores.

      I hope that helps!

Things we do regularly dont seem to impact our dreams much. If we see a bug on the ground and pick it up it may impact our dreams that night. As simple as it is the bug is not a big thing but out of the ordinary. If we dont see our parents often there is emotion linked to that and we may dream of them to fill in any emotional blanks. Reality checks never worked well for me on repetition because it was a regular mundane thing for me. From what I have read if you want something in your dreams make it big and different.

If it were not for LD, I'm sure I would dream of daily activities (starting from waking up) nearly daily... as I always say, silly FA <.<

if i were to dream about daily activities all the time, i would become lucid every night, becasue every time i had a dream like that, i had a succesful DILD, but that became so infrequent that i gave up RCs

Yeah, I have dreams about corporate regulation all the time, and people at work. I already hate the job enough without being there at night as well!

Acutally, NREM dreams are supposed to be more about your day-to-day stuff while REM dreams are the more insane ones. I don't often dream about strictly day-to-day activities, there's always some sort of skew on them and it's moreso some unique thing that happened versus getting up and brushing my teeth, except for FAs. I think our minds probably have a way to determine "oh, every single day I wake up and brush my hair" so it doesn't waste a lot of time on that.

I seem to dream I am at work a lot although usually they have a weird twist and sometimes I can DILD from there. But who wants to dream your at work only to wake up and actually have to go.

Most psychologists believe that dreams help the brain sort and store memories. In order to do that, it has to go through your daily memories, which is why you dream about your daily activities. Check out the dream content tutorial.

I have had many dreams about being at work... straightening boxes on shelves at a grocery store for what seems like hours. then I wake up and realize i have to go to work and do the same thing.

For those that have seen the movie Waking Life (an awesome movie about a seemingly never ending lucid dream), a dream character in the movie says something to the effect of, " its bad enough that we sell our waking lives for minimum wage, but they get our dreams for free." Then he sets himself on fire and the dream scene changes. Its a really thought provoking movie.

I find the following observations about my dreams very strange:

      • I never have my handbag with me yet IRL I always have my handbag with me.
      • I am never actually driving my car, I'm always a passenger, yet I drive every day and have done for twenty years.
      • I have never received a text message in a dream. I wish I would because it would instantly alert me to the fact that I'm dreaming as I've set my text tone as a voice recording that says "Are you dreaming? Do a reality check." Even if it doesn't say that in a dream I should notice that the tone is wrong!
      • I have never been to the gym in a dream, but I'm often at the dance studio.

...and the list goes on. Yet I'm often going into a public toilet in my dreams. Wtf is with that? I'm also often late on stage for a tap dancing competition but I haven't done tap dancing for over twenty years! Bizarre!
