I go lucid way too easily o.o

about a year ago i gave up trying to lucid dream because i was scared of SP, but recently i just close my eyes for literally 20 seconds when i'm tired and i'm in a lucid dream already without even wanting it

it started about a month ago, i was a bit confused about what was happening and the dream was really blurry, and i woke up in SP which really freaked me out

since then if i go to bed really tired i just go straight into SP or straight into a dream without really wanting to

last night was the best though. i went lucid straight after about a minute, explored some random houses in my area, then when i woke up i just kept my eyes closed and i'd be lucid again ^^

      is anyone else like this?

I'm not. After putting in a lot of effort and reading over and over, I managed to get lucid a few times a week, but nothing effortless.

Better buckle down pal, the envy-posters are going to inundate this thread

      xD

      i suppose i'm gloating if anything :S

i stopped posting on these forums ages ago, but since i can suddenly do it really easily i thought i'd return

i don't plan on lucid dreaming, it just happens some nights when i'm really tired
and now i'm getting used to it the dreams are getting a lot clearer and more fun :3

Any introspective properties that you can think of that might lead to dream induction?

Like, anything different that is happening now that didn't happen when you didn't get lucids?

i''ve been trying to think of reasons why this might be happening, so i can help my friend who wants to try lucid dreaming

really it just seems a bit random though :/

i did start sleeping with my collar on a while before it started, so i could raise my awareness while i'm asleep
it was a bit of an experiment really, and my dreams did seem to be getting more vivid

can't remember whether i was still wearing it when i went lucid the first time though.. i definatly wasn't last night anyway

oo actually the first time i was tired enough that i couldn't keep my eyes open easily

and while i was in bed i started imagining myself jumping, and i started feeling it somehow :S
so i kept doing it because it felt weird, and then i felt myself jump out of bed completly

it was really blurry in this first dream, and there wasn't much gravity xD

i think i did the jumping thing twice that night though

I see two things there. The collar might be an anchor as described by billybob in his WILD tut.

More notably, the jumping is essentially the textbook definition of tactile stimulation. That would probably be a main reason. Do you do tactile actions in your head normally when falling asleep?

not really sure what you mean by tactile actions/stimulation

i think i imagine myself doing things before most of my lucid dreams, not really sure

i know the jumping thing seemed to work though ^^

Tactile - dealing with touch, feeling.

Taken from Billy Bob's "An Overview of all Lucid Induction Methods""An Overview of all Lucid Induction Methods".

      Tactile WILD
This purely mental method of WILDing should not be confused with its physical WILDing cousin. To begin a tactile WILD the dreamer must first randomly awaken during a night of sleep, lay perfectly still, then use their imaginations to "feel" some tactile sensation on their bodies. Imagination will then blend with the dreamstate, and the dreamer will fall into a lucid dream where he or she is actually feeling said sensation.

Yeah, this is your key right here =)

Stick around. I'm a natural such as yourself and I induce lucid in a similar way (except with more emphasis on a medley of the senses). We'll be happy to discuss the aspects of imagining yourself doing things when you go to sleep, what works well and you might even be able to make your own tutorial after a while. So, listen, learn, and welcome back to DV =)

That's pretty cool; have you been doing anything different lately that would cause this? *jealous*

Also, SP is nothing to be afraid of. You go through it every night without even realizing it, every time you enter REM. It can be sort of alarming, but you have to remember that nothing can harm you.

i know, i just don't like being awake during it ^^

the first time i woke up in SP i had no idea what was going on, and there was this extremely creepy/happy music playing really close to my ear with a weird pulsating buzzing sound

i was shaking all night after that D:
and then i remembered about SP and the hallucinations that you get sometimes

since then i get a little nervous when i wake up in it ^^ but so far nothing bad has happened

also.. i still haven't had any lucid dreams since posting this thread D:

Bad luck? Rofl. Maybe now you are just trying too hard. Start not caring again, and see what happens. I wish I could naturally WILD. I just need to find the right technique...

      (Is totally jealous)
On LD hiatus. Probably will start again around new years.

Or, you know -- randomly throughout this year and next.

      that's what i'm thinking ^^

but it's hard trying to not care when you're thinking about LDs the second you feel sleepy D:

I'm really interested in how you were imagining jumping up in bed. Can you describe any more in detail? For instance, do you remember imagining yourself actually standing up and jumping? Or were you just thinking/imagining jumping in your bed and it started to feel weird? I would love to hear more about this.

I'm also curious, how old are you? I wanna know if I'm past my prime or not. hahah jk

Oh and also, what techniques did you try to practice when you failed(last year)? Then what made you start to use a collar? Were you trying to LD when you first used the collar?

      ..answering all of tweeks questions:

I'm not sure how to explain the jumping in bed thing. It just felt as though my imagination was having a physical affect on me, so i kept on doing it. I suppose i was imagining jumping in my bed and it started to feel weird ^^

and i'm 15 at the moment, almost 16

just realised i haven't used my collar since i posted this D: maybe that's why i haven't been lucid. Shame i accidentally put it in the washing machine earlier D:
hope it isn't ruined when it dries (it was expensiveee)

Last year i mostly tried WILD and practiced doing reality checks. Got close to WILD once, i was lieing still for over 2 hours when i started feeling really light, and i kept imagining getting lighter and floating away. Then when it failed i came back here and read that you have to imagine getting heavier -.-

oh and then i read about the old hag effect and got too scared of the idea of being paralyzed with some creepy figure in my room, so i gave up :S
since my first time waking up in SP though nothing bothers me about it ^^

and my reasons for wearing a collar is that i'm a furry (doesn't matter if you don't know what that is ^^) and i wanted to get more dreams where i'm an animal (only ever had one before). It was just a little experiment really, hoping that wearing the collar would somehow remind me of my furriness while i'm asleep ^^

it worked anyway, i started getting a few more vivid dreams and dreams including animals. Then i guess those vivid dreams turned into lucid dreams if they actually had that much of an effect on me

      yeah that's awesome.
so an expensive collar eh? it wouldn't happen to be electronic would it?

lol seriously though, I gotta try that.

I'm 18 btw, and I actually started trying to LD right about your current age. I've only had 3 that I know of though... HAHAHA (with very seldom effort)
