I've heard plenty of accounts of that happening. Crustaceans and crab like things are pretty common as well. |

This just occured to me while I was browsing the forum... a few years ago before I first had sleep paralysis I used to wake up thinking there was spiders all over me and I'd jump out of bed, put the lights on and stare at my bed convinced there was something there.. has anyone else ever had this?? |

Keep your mind active and tune into the stereogram.

I've never had that happen to me before, but sometimes I swear that the TV is on, even though I know it isn't on. Sometimes, I get up to check! |

If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

Sorry to bump this thread, but this happened to me alot of times but never actualy did research on it. I dont think it was sleep paralysis cuz my body was awake but i think my mind was in a Hypnagogia state. Sometimes i wake up with a bleeding knee or something and then i remembered i jumped out of my bed cuz of big spiders crawling on me! It felt very real, the reason why i dont think its sleep paralysis is cuz u cant move ur body or anything, i definatly jumped out of bed and then remeber going back to sleep.... |

This is actually pretty common for me. Recently, I was dreaming (but awake) that a hairy spider was on my neck. I jumped up and brushed my neck quickly with my hand, only to realize that it was actually my hair. lol |
|
I'm pretty sure that although they tend to coincide a lot, sleep paralysis and hypnogogic hallucinations/illusions are two different things. So you were just having a hypnagogic hallucination. |
|
hallucinating of tons of bugs especially ants is often a sign of psychosis, well that's what the doctors say anyway. |

This happens to me at least once a month. I think it's a false awakening for me. Ill be in bed and wake up and see a huge spider in my bed or aunts all over the place. I think I wake up for real rite after and I jump up out of bed thinking it's real. Ill search my bed for whatever it was I saw for a good 30 mins while I'm still in that just woke up state and I wont think about the situation rationally. Ill finally go to bed and realize in the morning how dumb I am for thinking it was real. One of the reasons because I wouldn't be able to see any bugs at all because my room is completely dark and just because a spider the size of my fist wouldn't be in my bed. It's really annoying tho and I wish it didn't happen. |
