      PAIN in your dreams

Firstly I don't want to sound like some crazy idiot but so I won't go in to too much detail.

2 years ago I image about having pain my dreams.. then I doozed off and I became lucid in the dream (in dream 1).

      Dream 1:

I woke up in a white room and someone stuck and sharp object through my back and I was screaming because I could feel the pain.. and I woke up screaming.

      Dream 2:

Last night I woke up my room and could barley move..almost paralized, then I was thrown outside.. I tried to use all the force inside me I could to get back inside, then I saw my monitor (I leave it on at night sometimes) then I blanked out... and woke up inside this dark room with 2 women having sex with me. It started to hurt and I asked them to stop!! and they said no we're almost done!

Then I woke up from the dream hallucinating a bit of lights about my room. I went back to sleep with the light on. Not much time seemed to have passed I don't think o_O

I've probably only had about 4 hours solid sleep since then...

      ---

So what this comes down to has anyone else had pain in their dreams? Far as I know you're not meant to have any pain in dreams at all.

Also I've been having another issue to with nightmares...I'll make another topic for that though a bit later maybe.

Yes, some people feel serious pain in their dreams, others barely feel anything at all.

I remember a dream a couple weeks back, where I somehow (Don't laugh) got a miniature samurai sword stuck in my gums above my teeth. I remember pulling it out and feeling the metal as it sliced through...oh man that hurt haha

You only feel pain in dreams if you stop to focus on it.

Most people don't feel pain in dreams because they are too focused on fighting or getting away from what just hurt them. But if you take the time to inspect your injuries, it could really hurt.

If you're lucid, just ignore it and it will go away.

I've never felt more than a mild sting in dreams, despite getting some severe injuries. I guess my subconscious is kind enough to limit the pain.

I feel pain quite a bit, but not too much of it. Just enough to know that what I'm doing is going to hurt me. Feeling pain is just the same thing as feeling any other sensationl; like the falling dream. If you have a falling dream, typically you feel your stomach churning even after you wake up from hitting the ground.

it's not unusual to feel pain in a dream.

I think it's odd how its not consistent though. sometimes I do and sometimes I dont.

I understand this is a long dead thread but...
Well, lastnight I didn't remember any dreams, until about the middle of the day, a fragment of a dream just hit me, and I remembered it from before because of what happened.

Basically I was in the dream and I was in this fight os sorts with swords, when I was stabbed in the back, the sword went all the way through my body, it hurt A LOT!
I then tried to take out the sword and again the pain was unbearable.

I also had another dream (awhile back ago) when I was shot in the knee cap, and darn it if it didn't hurt like hell then I don't want to know what hell feels like.
In most of my dreams I don't get hurt as bad as the two previous dreams so I have only felt mild pain, like being bitten by a bug ect.

Funny you should ask this. In my last LD I wondered about how serious pain would feel like.
So I summoned a guy to stab me in the stomach with a sword. It hurt... bad, and I woke up because of it. And it still hurt for a second after I woke up, it really felt like I've been stabbed!

Indded, and as I tried to take the blade out, I could feel it scrap my insides. It was so bad that in the dream I told them "I'm done guys", they still came after me so i said "I got to get something guys..." I ran away. I was non-lucid. Weird.

I could always feel physically in my dreams, one of the worst was probably when some monkeys cursed me into spewing out some cat bones. I know it's really weird, but I literally felt the sharp edges tear through my throat...

      Things I've done while Lucid:

      - Flying - Dream Rewind and Fast Forward
      - Invisibility - Shapeshifting - Grown Wings
      - Summoning [mastered (?)] - Zip lining
      - Fireball

I think it's the fact that, if your mind thinks you are in pain, you're gonna feel pain. Not always though. I've had non lucid dreams where I shot myself in the head and I could feel the bullet go through my skull, and yet it wasnt really pain... But then I've had dreams where smaller injuries really did hurt. I think maybe that's because I was in pain in real life? Maybe not as bad but like someone said, if you focus on it your mind makes it seem extra painful.

I wanted to add that, sometimes people that are missing an arm can feel pain in that arm. Clearly they don't have an arm that could be in pain. It's your brain's interpretation of pain. Signals beign sent in the mind. Same could be true with dreaming.

I normally don't expierence pain in my normal dreams but nightmares are terrible for me. I've had torture dreams before in which I've been tied down well someone stabs me. The pains been bad but I always have to endure a bunch of it before I wake up. Yet someone can attack me in a normal dream and I won't notice it.
      Goals:
[X]Meet dream guide [X] Have better dream control [] lucid dream more often [X] Fly [] Share a dream with my friend [] Meet myself in a dream and talk
