      comfortable beds matter?

does anyone else think a comfortable bed would make a huge difference?

I spent the night at my brothers house for two nights and I slept on our old comfortable couch and I had the best dreams I've ever had in my life.

Should I get a new bed?

I think it might have more to do with this old familiar comfortable couch than the comfy-ness of the actual sleeping surface. I found no change in my lucid frequency by what bed I was sleeping in. I have a ridiculously comfortable bed that feels like a big pillow, a much firmer mattress in NC, and my bed at school is like sleeping on a cement floor. No change, though. I recommend, before you spend the cash (because mattresses can be expensive) that you try out a few more sleeping surfaces over a longer period of time and see if you notice any differences. For the price of a mattress that might not do anything, you could probably spring for something like a novadreamer instead.

That's exactly what I thought too. Just making sure. Thanks!

I have great dreams whenever I sleep somewhere out of the ordinary. Try sleeping on your own couch or a guest room bed once in a while. You could even try sleeping backwards in your bed.

Of course, I think any excuse is a good excuse to buy a more comfortable bed.

A comfortable bed makes a HUGE difference! I was putting off buying a new bed last year, the springs in my current one at the time were poking me. What a difference a new bed made!

I'm the same. My most vivid dreams are at my friends' houses. I've also found that an uncomfortable bed can help with recall.

sometimes when I sleep somewhere completely different I get more vivid dreams, and my recall greatly improves. Like, sleeping on a hotel bed in new town, or sleeping on the couch or something, really seems to do something for me. But I think comfortability might reduce the amount of times you wake up or something like that.

Last week I was sleeping at my old house on my old bed, and the springs were poking into my backk/front. Funnily enough I got lucid every single night, thanks to the springs I could feel while I was sleeping. Wasn't much of a pleasant experience.

Actually I feel better sleeping the time that we changed our own bed into a comfortable one...I think your dreamed reminded you the memorable things and happy moments during the time that you're having your old comfortable couch.

We, personally, like things that will give us comfort and will make us happy. In choosing bed, we must take into consideration three things: comfort, style and of course, our budget. Think for it before buying beds...

I think the more comfortable you are the deeper you will sleep. Thus if you are at an unfamiliar place or an uncomfortable bed then you will sleep lighter, therefore increasing recall. I like the sleeping backwards in the bed idea btw.
