      Why not try this?

Have any of you ever thought about trying something different then exploding things, killing people,Having constant sex. Like lets say for instance. Living an amazing life. With money, power, and happiness? My plan is to live a regular life during the day, And when I dream live a completely different life. Maybe change my appearance, My name, The way I act. And just interact with the dreaming environment. Im not saying running around being a maniac destroying things, flying, and fighting off zombies isn't fun. But have any of you guys ever thought of my plan?

Sound like a great idea but *sigh*, we will need lots and lots of vividness and lucidity in our dreams to live a second life like that. Great idea anyway.

Well you can just live a second life in your dreams, but you will no matter what you dream of. It's just a get away from life.

I think one of the reasons that many of us like to do crazy things in our dreams is simply because its far more interesting than doing something we already do. Sure, you could change your name and personality, but your still living a rather normal life, which is, lets face it, pretty mundane. And if it's not mundane, and its crazy, then you are doing the same thing as the rest of us; just role-playing while you do it.

I generally don't do violent stuff in dreams...
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

In my opinion, there are two problems with this idea.
Firstly, you have to accept that in dreams there is a different value system than in the waking world. You are going to realize that money doesnt mean anything in (lucid) dreams, because you can get anything you want anyways, so there really isnt any point in being rich.

Secondly, if you try to live the same life every time in your dreams, with the same name, same rules, same background and so on, you will have to logically connect them in a way, so they can build on each other. Thats not as easy as it may sound, because dreams tend to have some kind of random and illogical quality alot of the time.

Also, like others previously said, it could get kind of boring if you leave out all the fun stuff again and again.

I think as a beginning lucid dreamer who does not have a lot of experience and control, this is a pretty hard task, and you would probably be better off just choosing different episodes at first, instead of living a consistent second life in your dreams.

But hey, if thats what you really want, just go for it. We should all do whatever makes us happy.

Even though I know Ive never experienced this, I thought about it for a while. Studied on how I would work certain things out etc.. My dreams are very real and vivid already. I have a good recall. And I know how to do alot of things. But then again I know there is alot of things I cant do until i start to lucid regularly. This is just my plan (Of course it will end up changing when I start to practice it in dreams) I was just saying this because it seems I see alot of posts about people getting "bored" with lucid dreaming and I thought it would be something new \ interesting to try. Of course Ill still blow things up or do the things anyone else normally would do. But I thought more about Just living each day of a separate life every time I go to sleep.

No. However, I have thought of something. I'll do it after I get all my induction techniques down (so I won't be interrupted + I'll have consistent LDs) along with mastering dream control.

Basically, the idea goes like this: to create a world that is basically a medieval/fantasy setting. But that's all I'll come up with. Basically, I will start by making a LD location that is sort of like a "base" for my LDs. One room will be pretty much dedicated to a portal that I can set to take me anywhere I please. Now, using this portal, I will teleport to the world, where I'll limit my dream powers to only that which would be realistic for the location (except for when I really need them). After that, I'll explore the world and learn about it by experience and asking DCs some questions. What I learn, I'll write down in a real life journal, since that's just fucking cool! I'll probably take note of the information so the next time I visit the place it won't be completely different. Hopefully I'll have some awesome adventures as I become a part of that world. Plus I'll have a whole world invented on paper with little effort.

You might be thinking, "but dreams are unstable/unpredictable/etc." I think this can be solved simply by going along logically and if I don't expect anything out of place to happen, it won't. I assume this because of how many people I've seen with recurring dream locations who don't have a problem with it.

There are also two other benefits that I can think of. The first that I'll get practice being more aware in dreams, because if I lose my lucidity in one of these "other world" dreams it would probably fuck things up. Second that I might dream about this world unintentionally and get lucid from that.

EDIT: Also, before this, I'd probably experiment with time dilation in dreams. If I could be in a different world for a whole day every night, that would literally be an alternate life.

      Your plan sounds good,
I thought similar a while back and it reformed to my plan.
Your post poj, Made me think. You know how dreams are so out of the ordinary? Like the most RANDOM stuff happening. I could force myself to pretending all this weird stuff happens because like a terrible bomb hit the original earth and I was the creator of the new earth or something (Its a dream people we can do whatever the hell we want) I'd like to just walk around like god, in a regular dream walk on water, shoot webbs like spider man. Fly or just randomly make people bow down to me. And I can l;ive in a big castle or something. And have one of those little people that tell the stupidest jokes and fail at amusment.

Yea, I'm not into fighting, sex, action, etc. I tend to do endless exploring, though.

This is actually something I've been planning to do eventually, but first I definitely want to get all the crazy stuff that I could never do in waking life out of the way An ambition like this one, creating a 'second life', would make for a very interesting and ongoing goal in my opinion. I also had something similar in mind to poj, living out this life in a much more interesting world than one that only mirrors reality.

I do live a second life in lucids, just that it involves killing and destroying... there is exploring, to meet new DC, to experiment with my own subconcious and concious, etc, etc.
I mean, that is so much more fun than just sex or money <.<
