What things affect the level of lucidity?

      Hi everyone!
I have noticed in my latest LD's (once I realized I was dreaming), if the dreamscape was completely unknown, it was more dificult for me to get a high level of lucidity. I mean: If I didn't see the dreamscape before (may be I didn't remember that place at all), usually I went on with the dream context but knowing it was a dream and using this just for getting a couple of better results inside of it. From time to time I just said: "...Of course, it is a dream!" or "Wow! I'm still dreaming...". Once I woke up, I realized that I was able to do better things but I didn't.
On the other hand, if the dreamscape was a known place, it was easier for me to get a higher level of lucidity in order to attempt some experiments.
My question: What things do you think affect the level of lucidity?
      Regards

you are looking at it from a wrong angle I'm afraid- dreams are very variegated and, while some factors like dreamsigns may prompt your lucidity and others like the dream changing locations may diminish it, generally the only thing that your lucidity depends on is YOU. not some shrubs or a location, not a DC or a dream-event, just YOU. Become lucid, tell yourself you are dreaming and feel how everything is created by your mind- nothing more to it
