      Losing Natural Talent

Hello everyone. Apopholis here. I'm back again.

Anyway, a number of posts I was reading on this forum made me wonder, is it possible to lose the Talent for Lucid Dreaming? From the ages of eight to about twelve I would have fantastic, vivid Lucid Dreams every night which were completely under my control. Basically, come bedtime, I was God. One day I remember telling my father about the control I had over my dreams and he told me that was impossible. Then I began to think it was all in my head. I stopped LDing. Then one day, my brother was playing Madden NFL 2009, when the song Lucid Dreams by Franz Ferdinand came on. I looked up Lucid Dreams on Wikipedia and all the info came up and I realized what they were.

Would it be possible for me to regain my natural Talent?

      It sure is.

While many things we wish for in life are restricted largely by external factors, lucid dreaming is not among them. Dreaming is a product of our own expectations. Just as you stopped lucid dreaming once you were told it was impossible, you can start back up just as easily now that you know they are possible.

In general, I suppose people lose their ability to recall dreams (or have lucid dreams) because our culture does not focus on dreaming. We are the Mourning Rush, hit-the-alarm-grab-a-granola-bar-and-go-seize-the-day. Your issue seems to be simply in belief. Your lucid dreams should return soon. Just read around and set some time aside to rev up your dream recall.

I was an active lucid dreamer, and after a few years became bored. I let this talent slip for a while.
When I looked to induce the lucid dreams again (quite recently btw) I found my dream recall had to be overcome again.

Like Abra mentioned above^^, I would start with getting over the forgetfulness, and break the memory barrier so you can remember your dreams with detail and clarity again.
I play broccoli with checkers every night.

It is very easy to lose it...

      Effort will regain it.
      Bollocks.
