On the brink of a breakdown :(

So I've been into LDing for a month now, and it started pretty well. I remembered dreams properly, wrote em down etc. Then my internship began, and I didn't remember any dreams at all. Since a week now though, I've been remembering dreams pretty well, usually 1+- dream per night. (And write em down ofcourse).

I put my alarm clock on my cellphone to go off on vibration-mode every hour of the day, so it reminds me to do a reality check. (And I do RC's between those times as well.) But they haven't been of help yet...

And when I'm going to bed, I use the WILD ( or sometimes MILD, but it just doesn't seem as effective... to me personally) technique. Except I find it harder to get to SP anymore. So I read something about your REM cycle etc, and decided to put my alarm clock on a few hours after I sleep, and do WBTB. But I just find myself way to tired to wait for SP, and just crash back to sleep.

Is there anyone who can help guide me? I'm trying to follow every step (I even bought ETWOLD) but it still won't seem to work

I'm just gonna try to go down and cover each point in order:

This is a skill that you could practice and improve at throughout your whole life, don't worry if you don't have it mastered in a month.

It's good that you're writing down your dreams, and it's not abnormal for people to go through "dry spells" where they don't recall any dreams. The point of writing dreams down, in addition to increasing your recall, is to analyze them for common experiences that might have clued you in to the fact that you were dreaming. Start looking for things like that, and reality check when you encounter something similar in your waking life. Forget about setting your cell to have to RC each hour, that's pointless.

WILDing when you go to bed won't help, because you need to be deep in a REM cycle to make it work properly. Set your alarm clock to wake you 6 hours after you go to bed, and then your WILD-WBTBs will work better, and sleep paralysis will come easy. If you're having trouble staying focused as you fall back to sleep, you probably need to wake yourself up a little more. In other words, if you're just hitting your alarm, turning over and going to sleep, you may need to do something slightly more active like actually getting out of bed and taking a bathroom break or something.

This stuff is all in EWOLD btw, and my reason for telling you that is to reinforce your confidence in the idea that following EWOLD will give you LDs, because confidence is the most important key. The biggest problem for WBTBers is the thought, "I'm tired, this is obviously not working, I'm just gonna give up for tonight and sleep." Just keep brushing aside your doubts as many times as it takes; they're the source of the problems, and it's entirely possible for you to LD tonight as long as you stay confident.

Any thing big happen in your life lately? Or little stresses just popping up? Stress sometimes leads to worse dream recall.

I just want to second pretty much everything Happiness said.

Especially that lucid dreaming is a skill--it takes practice and consistency in practice to really get going. Please don't get discouraged after a month, two or even three or more months. I started doing just MILD once before bed every night. It took months to get to the point of about one lucid dream per month. I stuck with it, and slowly the number increased. Now I have at least one or two lucid dreams per night. So I promise you, is you stick with it, your hard work WILL pay off someday.

If you make an affirmation that you'll be lucid, it works. The key is to be in an anticipating mood instead of worrying whether it will work or not. In combination with WBTB it's great.
