Hi,

I'm new in this forum, but just had to join to ask everyone's opinion on the following.

I have always been able to remember my dreams very clearly all my life. I had my first lucid dream when I was about 14 (I'm 24 now) and didn't even now what it was at the time. I have never really tried to 'have' lucid dreams, they just sort of happen for me about twice a month.

After looking into the topic a bit, I thought it would be great to get more involved with my lucid dreams by trying to control them more. See if I just 'go with the flow of the dream' I can stay lucid for a really long time. But, if I try and direct my dream in a certain way by trying to make a certain person appear or try to make myself fly, I can't. I'm in the middle of my dream, saying to myself, 'dude, you are in dream, yay! so lets go and fly over somewhere' and I try to take off and I can't! But, i'm like, 'it's a dream you fool, fly!' and I literally won't be able to fly.

Does this mean I'm not fully lucid? Am I still questioning my brain about being in a dream (even though I know I am)? Or is it just hard for some people to let go of reality and it's laws even in dreams? Cause I in my dreams all the time when I don't mean to. But when I actually try...nothing.

Do you think I just need more practice?
Penny for your thoughts?
