Where do you enter your dream?

I have only had one wild in my life. The very first time I tired, I succeded, every attempt since then has failed miserably. But last night I got to thinking. When I did succeed, I found myself standing in the dark. I was fully collored, as in I could see myself, but all around me was dark. About 20 feet in front of me there was activity. It was not fully there. Some of the people were dark, others were partly collored. I figured this was do to the fact that I was not fully in the dream or fully asleep. I had no idea who the people were, why they were there, where they came from.
I was wondering. Where do you enter your dream durring a wild? Is it different every time? Is there any control over where you enter or just completly random?

you can appear anywhere- from your room/house to outer space, totally random, but if you are experienced you can sometimes change the locales to your liking
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

My WILDs usually start either in bed, or flying through a random outdoor environment. Most of them start with a sleep paralysis type situation. From there, I try to get out of bed and walk out of my house. If I can't break out of it, I just imagine flying, and the visualization becomes a full "real" dream environment.

well, I thought about it some more today and it occured to me that the reason the environment was completly black is that I was concentrating on clearing my mind of all thought so that I could enter the dream. I succeeded so well that when i did fall asleep, there was nothing in my mind for the dream to latch onto in order to make a dream environment. The only thing it doesn't explain is who the people were.
