Mnemonics are your friend...examples include ROY G BIV and other such memory aids. I imagine rhythmic mantras would fall under this category. My one concern is that it is too long, and could be asking too much from your brain. I don't think moving about is anything to worry about, unless you're trying to WILD. Comfort is key, I think. |

I've just started embarking on the ways of the MILD... it's slowly seeping in and starting to work. My mantra throughout the day time is simply, "I will be aware when I'm dreaming and become lucid." I say that to myself throughout the day. |

yea, I typically preffer MILD over WILD. Mostly because with WILD, something as simple as a sneeze can ruin an hour of staying perfectly still. And MILDs, I've found, seem to work better when you actually are thinking about them, rather than having them playing in the background so to speak. that's why I typically try to rephrase my "request" many different ways while MILDing. but if you do want an affective playing-in-the-background type MILD, I've had luck with this: "by the time I am dreaming, I will realise I am dreaming. *pause around 3 seconds* Am I dreaming? *pause again* Is this a dream? *repeat*". The pauses make it feel more comfortable than endlessly repeating something, and they always give a small chance you'll fall to sleep during one. also, maybe try to think of a reason you aren't dreaming during the question part. |
