Exclamation Need some help and tips on gaining lucidity.

Over the past few weeks ive been trying to lucid dream. I have sometimes had some days where i can't remember my dreams, but through out the day i seem to remember some parts of it, even though i might not be bothered to right it down, because i know i'll remember it anyway. Ive tried for weeks without a single lucid dream. Ive had one or two "Almost" ones, but overall its been pretty annoying. I just want some tips and advice on trying to gain lucidity. Any techniques that worked for you, that i could try out? Anything. Ive tried a few techniques that have failed, and mantras (that do give me a dream, but not lucid) Id just like to say that i had a dream, where i was trying to blow through my nose whilst holding it, but it looked like i had my eyes half open whilst still watching the dream in the top half of my eyes, weird. (This was not lucid)

      Thanks in advanced.

      Hey Lucidness,

Gaining lucidity can really be frustrating sometimes, I know it. One of my most favorite tips, and you mentioned it briefly, is writing it down. And something I discovered recently that really helps dream recall, especially long term (and improved dream recall leads to improved lucidity) is adding pictures to the dream journal. Try it for a couple weeks and see if you notice a change.

Thanks op, ive heard something on the same lines, but it was about writing what you want to dream about . I shall drawing pictures after my dreams, but i normally draw stick men, lol. Because i drew a cartoon of what i dreamt about once. lol. But do you mean draw artisticly good and parts of the dream, or stick men pictures, or just a sketch? ;P

I didn't have any lucid dreams for two and a half months. At the point where I did finally have one lucid dream, I was having two to four dreams recorded a night. I think there were two things that helped me.

      1. My first lucid was completely random. It was actually a night after a Salvia trip and it just kinda HAPPENED. Without me trying, I had never put any thought or actions into lucid dreaming before. It just happened. But after this happened, I wanted it again of coarse. I think having experienced a lucid dream helped me to get them more.

      2. I wake up in nights and do the same steps people take to do wild. (Counting and saying your dreaming) I do this for like two hundred seconds and then go to sleep. If I go wild great. If not, it really helps you to have lucid dreaming on your mind. This has made me have four lucid dreams since a week ago when I had my first.

Actually I meant posting pictures from the internet. Assuming you have an online dream journal, that is. I do this alot, and I've seen other members do it. For example, if you had a dream about an actor, then put a picture of him/her in the post. Somehow it really improves recall.

Damn, I really need to get back into that!
