It is also possible that your not entering as deep of a sleep, because your not as tired, or that you are more aware because your well rested in the afternoon. |

I concur, its most likely becuase your sleeping lighter and thus more likely to retain some consciousness. |

If it's agreed that light can make us LD, then how come I haven't seen anybody try this yet? We can use pair of glasses and somehow hook the light into the glasses and dim it down, sorry I don't know squat about electronics. |

Napping is actually understood to be one of the best ways to LD though probably not for the reasons you mention i.e. more light. |

Napping's pretty useful for lucid dreaming. I think it has to do moreso with your mind already being more awake during midday than morning, and REM being easier to achieve. |

It is actually best to nap within 4 hours from the time you woke up in the morning or the chance for LD diminishes largely, and the best bet to get an LD is at 2 hours after waking. This is what I've read and also what has been true for me. If I wake up at 9am, taking a nap around 11am...will pretty much always result in a LD without any effort. |
