Most of my DCs are as intelligent as I, but a good few of them are very unintelligent. Sometimes I control their responses though, if I'm doing something specific in a dream. |

Dream characters are one of many fascinating things in dreams. Dreams without any dream characters can be very boring. Some characters seem to be just like real humans, while others tend to be like machines. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

dream characters are fun to mess with, i had a dream once that i was able to convince my dream friends that this is just a dream... first my friend looked at me and said "hey guys, i think sean is being serious" and i said yeah im serious this is just a dream, i told them that im about to wake up, my friend told me to look at him in the eyes and keep talking to him so i wont wake up, i eventually woke up but went right back to sleep and was right back into the same dream, i told them i just woke up now im back.. really weird bcuz i havent had dream characters respond so attentively like that... but i assume its because i wanted them to believe me so my subconscious willed them into saying things.. |
|
I ask them questions... the answers never make a bit of sense. |
|
I have found that they can vary anywhere from intelligent to nonsensical. Many times their comments and answers are surprising and unexpected. |
|
My DCs have a fair level of intelligence, but sometimes they do behave a bit odd. One thing I can say is that my DCs are a lot friendlier, sexier, and happier than most real people. |
|
hahahaha he fist pumped you thats funny, crazy dream though, said he was in an rv accident, you remember what he looked like, facial features maybe you can find a person within your area that has been in a fatal rv accident, that would be even crazier if it was an actual spirit of a person haha. Just sayin you never know. |

It varies. Some speak like human characters, others possess the intelligence of a brick. |

In my normal dreams my dream characters try to talk to me but I can't understand them. Well...it's like they're talking but they're also 'not' talking. I get the jist of what they're saying because they're in my mind but if someone on the street talked like that I wouldn't understand a word of it. |

Yes, our mind sure is a mysterious yet fascinating thing! |

My dream characters have always been smart and alot of them seem to have a pushy attitude to them. I remember my first lucid dream, I was around my friend and I told her this was a dream and you know what she did?. She got angry and started strangling me! so I told her 'I was joking, I know this isn't a dream' and she calmed down. Scary thing for my first lucid dream since it happened almost as soon as I went lucid!. lol. |
|
Well, since I don't talk to them much, most of the ones I do talk with, are normal level lol |
|
The only dream characters I ever really get are people I know in real life. I think my mind assigns them habits that I think they have in real life. As such, most of my DC's are pretty dumb, just because I know lots of dumb people. |
|
Same here. DCs in my dreams who I don't know talk very little. What they say to me is most often predictable just before they say it. Although in one dream, I "woke up" laying in a school playground somewhere in ancient Asia. There were three young monks practicing martial arts. Maybe around the age of 7 or 8. They walked up to me and said "We thought you were dead". I told them that this was a lucid dream. They looked puzzled. I smiled and then said "You can fly!". Two of them laughed and flew away. One kid just stood there and stared at me. He seemed to be a more intelligent DC. He seemed to be curious and wanted to have a conversation. |
|
My charries sometimes know that this is a dream. Sometimes they also act like normal people. |

I have become careful assessing the intelligence of dream characters. What may seem nonsense at first can be quite surprising on reexamination. What you perceive does not necessarily bear a close resemblance to its true self. You can only correctly recognize symbols that are known to you. An unknown symbol may seem meaningless, you wouldn't understand it or it is represented by something you know, but that may be very vague and far from its true self. What seems "stupid" or "machine-like" may merely exceed your understanding of it. Remember, in dreams you are not seeing with your eyes and not hearing with your ears. In the waking world you aren't either, but that's a different topic. |

I find that most of my more prominent 'chance' encounters with 'high-level' dream characters are along this same vein. I once went to sleep with the intention of meeting another dreamer somewhere as soon as I fell into lucidity, and as soon as I drifted off, I found myself in an enormous, well-appointed courtyard. Seated at it's center was what appeared to be a young man, maybe fourteen years old, wearing dark eye makeup (like cleopatra-style) and gaudy beaded clothing. I ran over to him and sat down, and he opened his eyes, looked straight at me and said: "What are you doing here? How did you get in? Who told you where I was?" He waved his hand and I went flying end over end and woke up in a cold sweat. Had I just been forcefully ejected from my dream by a dream character, or was it actually another dreamer, banishing me from HIS dream? |

There’s one dumb character who acts annoyingly. Most characters are middling, but characters known to be smart like The Doctor, Futurama’s Bender, Blank from NGNL are pretty smart. I have a man named Mastermind who successfully faked his death, staged chaos at an airport, set up a safe haven, multiple secret hideouts, and helped me out with a plan via phone. Oh yeah, and he used merely teleportation device to kill a multiversal character. Now that is smart. |
