      Dreaming of having lucid dreams?

A few nights back, my sleep schedule got screwed up and I ended up sleeping just before an REM phase so I sorta WILDed. I didn't need any dream signs but just went lucid and proceeded to fly, get in crazy superpower fights etc. (all after actually thinking to myself "YES! I'm lucid! Now I'll try to shoot flames out of my palm!") or whatever.

When I woke up, I felt like I wasn't really lucid but instead just thought I was. I forgot most of the dream before I had a chance to write anything down and it felt just like a normal dream. I had the "opened eyes" clarity for a while but I'm wondering if it could have been that I just dreamt of being lucid?

I would count it to be a lucid. I have had the same thing as you described. I didn't feel like I was fully lucid, but indeed I was.
I have dreamed of myself being lucid, however it was different. It felt different and it felt like I was watching it.

So go brag about having a lucid now, mate.

It was only a lucid dream if you knew you were in a dream. Did you know you were dreaming? Or did you have superpowers and flew around in a non-lucid dream? (Control isn't the same as lucidity, in case you weren't aware.) Hope that helped you.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I knew I was dreaming and all the while was trying to go lucid. The control only came afterwards but when I woke up I couldn't shake the thought that that wasn't really a lucid dream but just a dream of me going lucid and flying and stuff. Hard to explain really. But I guess I can sorta add that one to my number of lucid dreams.

Sometimes there is a bit of foggy or clarity that accompanies lucidity. Essentially, you just have to be consciously aware that, yes, this is definitely a dream. It sounds like to me that you had that awareness But everyone is right. You could be aware of it being a dream and have zero control over your actions.

I've had LD's where I'm running or hiding from someone. I know it's a dream, and I tell myself, "Once I find a safe spot to hide, I'll work on stabilizing and control!" This is a low-level lucidity, because I knew it was a dream, but I didn't realize the full implications of what that really meant!

I think we are talking about lucid satisfaction. I feel spoiled now. If my lucid dream is not of the extremely vivid variety, I tend not to count it. I had a low quality lucid dream the other night:

I was browsing the forum. I had been on this forum for months, and I knew all your personalities. The imagery was very weak, but everything seemed to be screaming out "You are dreaming right now!" -I stepped out front, looked around, and in one leap landed on my neighbors rooftop.

The only part that was vivid was landing up there and feeling the texture of the shingles on my fingers as I weightlessly scuffled across it.

That's all up to personal opinion, but if you're keeping a total, even those one second bursts of realization before you wake up count as a lucid dream

But those are, in MY opinion, the aboslute worst LD's
