      Moving in the right direction?

Hey, hey, I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a couple of months now and now that its summer, I can put more effort into it. So for the past two days or so, I've been keeping a dream journal (it could be just a coincidence, but I think I've been remembering more dreams and with more details ) and been doing RCs frequently. I'll look at my hands and say "Am I dreaming? Is this a dream?" and then I'll closely inspect them, count my fingers, and try and put one of my fingers through my hand. Two nights ago, in my dream I was looking at my hands and say a big purple spot on it, and looked at it closely, feeling pretty confused. This past night I had a dream where I counted to three using my fingers, and again I was confused. I know I didn't actually realize but I think thats pretty good so far, right? Oh, and does anyone have any other tips and how long do you think it will be until I have an actual, proper lucid dream? I've had dabblings in lucid dreams before (ie. dreaming about lucid dreaming, thinking I was transitioning instead of in reality being in a dream, experiencing sleep paralysis + side effects) but I've never had a real one. I know its different for anyone but maybe an approx. or from your own personal experience. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're doing pretty good.

, it's not a coincidence that you're remembering more dreams and with more detail, that's the beauty of the DJ! Plus, you have a REASON to remember them in detail.

also, besides RC's, ask yourself how you got where you are, be observant. Think about your surroundings.

If you keep this going, you'll get a lucid in no time!
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

It sounds to me that you are very close to having a lucid dream. The key is just to realize you are dreaming. I think this requires more reality checking. Remember to not just ask if you are dreaming, but to answer it. So ask "am I dreaming", do any number of checks, and then say "no, I am not dreaming" or (hopefully) "yes, I am dreaming". If you just ask the question but don't give a response then it won't work. Stick with it and you should eventually become lucid. Its just a matter of time.
