A song in my dream.

Tonight, i was dreaming (not lucid) that i was in a room with computers with some other people and i was booting a pc and when windows started, a song started playing, i said someone changed the startup sound(the guy from my class who is good at computers) Also the windows was more colorful, he also changed that. But the song really kept playing and it was very vivid and pretty good sounding. I still remembered it when I woke up (during the dream, i wanted it to contuinue but someone turned it off) Now i have forgotten it but i know it was good!

Maybe this thread is better placed in the general dream discussion. Today I had a similiar dream (not LD too) I was in a kitchen and had a synthesizer in front of me. I started to play with the controls and then heard a girl singing a song. The very astonishing thing was, that I heard the melodie and the lyrics. And I know that the text was really a rhyme. When I woke up, I forgot the melodie and lyrics. But this was not the only dream with music that I had in the past. Some times I was able to remember the melodie and write it down. Therefore I am sure that melodies and lyrics are real music in dreams not only illusion. And today I thought about this and wondered why it is so easy to compose melodies in a dream but why it is so hard to do it when I am awake.

Maybe if you are in a lucid dream you can ask a dc to sing something, or turn on a radio, who knows you can do this every night :p

My brother and I sometimes talk about music in dreams given how earth-shatteringly amazing it can sound. On a few occasions we've both had completely original tunes. Unfortunately they always vanish or cease to be so awe-inspiring upon waking. There's also the case that a song you know from real life will play and, with no surprise, be a thousand times more enjoyable than if you just turned on a stereo system. One lucid had me as the vocalist before a massive concern crowd singing lyrics using an identical voice as the actual singer. Dreams are sure taunting. -.- I thought about this and wondered why it is so easy to compose melodies in a dream but why it is so hard to do it when I am awake. Me too. In regards to just about all forms of art: music, painting, writing, etc. If only there was some way to utilize lucidity with the purpose of furthering an artistic endeavor... It's happened to me a couple of times where a dream location will inspire me in a story or whatnot but those were all random occurrences without my input.

Very cool! I occasionally hear original melodies in my head while awake.. I'm looking forward to getting into a LD where I can really unlock my subconscious mind's full music composition potential
