Just Like Solarfalre says. Anytime you find yourself daydreaming, do an imaginary reality checks. My notion is that you will condition yourself to "imagine" a reality check when dreaming. You don't even have to be day dreaming, just imagine doing a reality check (that doesn't mean stop doing the psychical reality checks though). Hope that helps 
Also if you can, try to imagine being aware of all your senses. Example. Lets say you find yourself in a grocery store, try and focusing on what the sotre looks like, what you hear etc. It's really akward at first and can feel tricky, but if you can get the hang of it, it could do wonders.
