Exclamation Lucid Dreaming Experiment – Participants Wanted!

      Hello!

My name is Tadas and I am an MSc student in Consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University.

In my dissertation project I am exploring possibilities of creative problem solving in lucid dreams and I am looking for participants to take place in an experiment.

If you are an experienced lucid dreamer and you would like to explore whether it is possible to employ lucid dreaming for creative problem solving, please join this intriguing experiment! Your help would be much appreciated!

The experiment will be carried out for a period of 10 days. Every night before going to sleep you will be given a creative task or problem to solve and you will try to find an answer in your lucid dream!

The study is anonymous and confidential.

If you would like to take part in the experiment please write me an email to [email protected]

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me as well!

      Many thanks!

Exclamation Creative problem solving in lucid dreams - participants wanted!

A bit more detailed information about the study.

AIM: To explore possibility of creative problem solving in lucid dreams with the help of dream characters.

METHODS: The study will be carried out over the period of 10 consecutive days. Each night before going to sleep the participants will be given a creative task/problem to solve. They will be asked:
      a) to memorise the problem before going to sleep
      b) to induce a lucid dream (using preferred technique)
      c) to find an old wise man/guru/spiritual guide figure in the dream
      d) to ask him or her for help and ask for an answer to the given problem
      e) to wake up and record the answer

Two groups will be used: lucid dreamers and a control group of non lucid dreamers. Participants should be 18+ years old.

Of course, I do not expect that the lucid dreamers will be able to have a lucid dream every night for 10 days in a row smile If you could have a lucid dream in 5 out of 10 nights, it would be fine, 3 would be OK as well.

I believe this could be an important and groundbreaking study and you could make history in lucid dreaming research!

So please do not hesitate to sign up!

If you have any questions please post it here and I will be more than happy to answer!

If you want to join this study the study please send me an email to [email protected] with the following information:

      1. Your age
      2. Gender
      3. Country of residence
      4. How many lucid dreams do you usually have?
      5. Do you have internet access at home?

I love problem solving in dreams, and I know its very possible. I once said a weird set of times tables, like 236 or something, really fast in a dream.

      236...472...944...etc etc.

Also verified i was saying it right when i woke up.

Sure. Ill give it a go.

10 Days in a row might be difficult but fully possible, and for the sake of the study i could use many alarms throughout the night, which would pretty much guarantee a lucid dream.

      Questions:

      1. When do we start?

      2. How many people are you looking for?

      3. Where are the 'non-lucid dreamers' coming from? I don't think you will find people on this site who are just average dreamers - however most of our families would be normal, average dreamers, so maybe we could ask them to participate.

      Welcome Dizko!

May I ask to send me an email to [email protected] with the following information:

      1. Your age
      2. Gender
      3. Country of residence
      4. How many lucid dreams do you usually have?
      5. Do you have internet access at home?

      Thanks!

And now answers to your questions:

      1. The experiment will start once I will finish with the participants search. Probably towards the end of the month.

      2. I am looking for at least 10 lucid dreamers and the same number of participants in the control group.

      3. Probably I will use various ways to recruit participants for the control group (my friends, their friends, etc.). But if you know someone who would be interested to join please share However involving family members would not be a good idea in this study

Interesting, count me in! Though since I'm trying to go back to my normal traveling mood, may get distracted with ease in the dreams, but still will try my best.

Question: Do you need this info from all participants?

      1. Your age
      2. Gender
      3. Country of residence
      4. How many lucid dreams do you usually have?
      5. Do you have internet access at home?

Because if so, I would suggest to edit first/second post with it, easier for people who tend to skip.
