      New Lucid Dreaming Technique

      Hey all,

I was walking home from class today and I thought of a way to possibly induce lucid dreams. I don't know if this method has been tried before, or if it will even work, but I've decided to post it anyway to get some feedback. The method could be helpful for those who have dreamsigns they cannot regularly associate with reality checks.

For example, I frequently have dreams involving large animals (moose, bear, etc). But during the day, I cannot associate these dreamsigns with reality checks because I do not ever see moose or bears walking around south Texas (naturally).

So, I was thinking, what if I made a slideshow that contained a large number of pictures of random things and I threw in a picture of a moose or bear every once in a while. Then, right before bed, I could toggle through the slideshow and do a reality test every time I saw a dreamsign. This would help associate my dreamsigns with reality checks.

This method could be used for any dreamsign that you can find an image of online (a person, place, thing, etc).

Please let me know your thoughts of whether or not this method could be a possible 'lucid inducer'.

      Cheers,

      Johnny

That might work, though alternatively you can use mantra with dream signs that you don't see regularly in waking life, like "Every time i see x i do reality check and become lucid" while falling asleep. And from what i heard watching monitor before going to sleep can make it harder to fall asleep for some people.

As scionox said, that could definitely work.

And even if you don't see your dream sign. Let's say you just remember an animal. Say it out loud - "wow, and [x]". RC and say a mantra. But of course, if you could add visual clue to it, it would be better, because then you would see it, hear yourself saying it and maybe even touching the picture or the real thing.

The most important part of RCs is the amount and quality of emotions you put into it. The "wow" moment. That is important to have. Good luck and happy dreams
