Thread: Trouble 'Connecting'

Well, I've always been very spiritual, but lately I've been having trouble connecting to whatever/whoever my 'spirit guides' are and even my basic dreaming.

I really don't know what it is, but I'm having trouble concentrating when I meditate and I've been pretty stressed (I'm a high school senior, and I'm into college (and a prestigious and well-known one at that, even though it wasn't my first choice), so I feel like I should be relaxed and happy... but I'm just not. I guess I'm more focused on social stuff and don't take this the wrong way, but I'm in the 'popular' group at a private high school in the West LA/Beverly Hills area (and I know everyone says how can you be happy with all that surrounding wealth and parties and fun, etc), but I feel like I'm both so above all of the foolish stuff teens do, but at the same time I want it and love it...

Basically, I need some help connecting to myself and the higher planes... and help concentrating on my meditations.

I just had to write this down and ask for advice... so does anyone have any meditations that I should attempt to help be both connect back with myself and my spirit guides as well as my dreams and whatever the 'higher plane' may be.

Don't worry if your not 100% now. Sometimes this happens. Just try to listen to your heart. Don't think that you have to be something. Don't worry about what you are.
There is nothing wrong about what you are. Only your thought about it makes it wrong.

Also I go to a ghetto continuation high school in oceanside hahahaha

WELCOME TO REALITY!!

I feel you, ur state of mind is similar to mine. But i learend there's just nothing wrong with having fun and going crazy once in a while. You're still above the rest in that you have more interests and ur life doesn't solely depend on going out and getting wasted. So when you grow out of that state then it's time to really find ur spiritual side, while the youngsters you met are now old geezers that feel empty inside.

I've had much more success... my vivid dreaming has come back, and I've been having some lucid dreaming (and some crazy sleep paralysis/AP type dreams.
I guess I just had to straighten some things out and just focus more.
