      Gazing (or more like staring)

I wasn't sure about how to correct the thread name, but here goes.
I'm sure you've met a person that could stare or gaze at you with such tremendous force that you felt at the very least uncomfortable. Sometimes it feels as if they're piercing your soul or are ready to rip you to shreds. Don Juan does it a lot in Journey to Ixtlan.
Anyone knows how do they do it?

In theory, they do it by being badass enough.

      Seriously.

It's like if you had so much of a determined feeling in yourself, from your experiences and your way of looking at the world, that you express it by simply being alive.

Someone's who has defeated countless fears and difficulties in his/her life will certainly show an almost-if-not epic feeling of strenght and courage, just as a down the well depressive will show a heavy and stagnant, hopeless sensation.

But some people are more perceptive to others, as some are less.

The only times I've been able to do something similar was when I felt that my vibrational frequency was higher than usual, which I doubt is a coincidence. I think it takes a tremendous amount of focused energy, or just practice. (although in my case it's quite different than what is being described, as I have no desire to rip anyone to shreds or intimidate...it's more like, giving off light or stronger aura that makes people more likely to notice and respond)

I do have a friend that can do this though. It's intense. He's always at a higher frequency so I think it goes with the territory.

How does one reach a higher frequency?

One can reach a higher frequency with enough practice.

With some time on meditation you'll begin to feel your own vibrations, and when you grow used to it, you'll learn to follow it deeper and deeper, higher and higher.

There are many things you can do to increase your frequency. I was actually planning on doing a workshop for this. There are two threads you should check out in Inner Sanctum if you haven't already:

      http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=46091
      http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=50697

Hopefully I can get to this workshop soon. I think it would be fun at the very least.

Yes, though if you can put forth that intent, I'd say it's likely to get someone's attention.

      Eating some chili peppers helps.
Also, being lucid when looking into someone's eyes and seeing them seeing you seeing them. Also, rather than looking into their eyes, look at their third eye and use your peripheral vision to see into their eyes. It is kind of like looking past their eyes into their soul.

Focused attention amplified by strong emotion. Doesn't really matter what emotion you use, although each one will have different effects.

Back in high school I had something I called "The look of Death". I had a lot of fun with it. I could make people stop dead in their tracks, or even make them drop their books with only a look.

Okay, how do you become lucid in waking life? I'm assuming that it is made of being aware all the time?

I've noticed every scary dream I have had recently has been forcing me to confront fears. Bit By bit I am making my inventory of fears and discarding them as the process moves along. I wonder if doing this will enable me to do this gazing...

What you do is you stare behind the person and act like they are not even there. The effect is that you are staring through them, and it can be pretty intimidating.

Didn't Don Juan say that the first enemy of a man is Fear? (Iirc, then it's Clarity, Power and Old Age no?). It kinda means you're advancing pretty well.
