      Lateef's Workbook

I have already made a dream journal on this site so that is a plus. I havn't done reality checks yet---i usually do them when my best friend is around he tends to be in most of my dreams. So far i have been using supplements to increase the vividness of my dream, and its been working very well!. I had 3 dreams today i will post my favorite one on here!

Welcome to the class lateef! I look forward to reading your journal.

So what supplements are you using, just out of curiosity?

I have been using melatonin. I m really good at remembering my dreams, but recently it's been hard. The melatonin has helped a lot!

Yeah I take 5-htp which helps they body produce melatonin at night. It definitely increases my recall and chances for lucidity.

So how are your dreams and reality checks going?

Hello, ok so I have been doing two RC's. I have been checking my hands and every time after that I repeat to myself 3 times "next time I'm dreaming I will look at my hands". I also pinch my nose to see if I am able to breathe. So far I have been at this for a couple of days----and I am unable to do a reality check in my dream. But I will not give up---I actually did my first lucid with out an RC, it just happpened . This morning I tried the WILD technique. I am not sure if I did it right but I woke up and then tried to invision that I was climbing a very tall latter (saw on this site). I was doing this while focusing on trying to become lucid---i am suppose to become lucid at some point in the dream. Although it didn't work I think it is because I didn't focus on lucidity enough I will try this technique again tonight, along with the RC's.

Any suggestions on how often I should RC?

Hey lateef, a few things: first of all, the first lucid you had, was it a DILD, do you remember? Also, have you ever had any other lucid dreams besides that one? And finally, reality checks are somewhat based on what induction technique you use. For example, remembering to do RCs on a regular basis can help with DILDs. Whereas having a general heightened sense of awareness all day (ADA or SDA), can help with the transition between awake and asleep, while never losing said awareness (which can aid you in WILDs or DEILDs).

Just some things to think about.

Ok so I just posted a new dream in my online dj

      Dream signs
My best friend, being in strange buildings that I have never been in, gatherings ( I am always with groups of people in my dreams that I am really close to could this be a dream sign?---also I am always with my best friend so it is hard to transfer that over into my dreams), my deceased grandmother sometimes appears in my dreams on the occasion (last time was on mothers day).

      Awareness
I have been trying to be fully aware in my day. I try to observe more cautiously, touch, seneses, and taste. I don't know if I am doing it right though lol (any suggestions?).

      RC's
Nose RC, and the hand through the finger RC. I usually do these when walking through doors or like every hour or so when I am with my best friend.

      Induction technique
I use WBTB and use the WILD tecnique. I have had three Lucids---two of them I used this tecnique on accident and one I accomplished on purpose.

      Nightly routine

I usually read up on lucid dreaming, try to focus my mind on lucidity. Before bed for like 30 minutes I tell my self "next time I dream I will realize I am dreaming" I also say "next time I dream I will look at my hands".

      Goals when attaining lucidity

. I want to be able to move more in my dreams (in my past Lucids I always feel like it is hard for me to move, I think it's because I get so excited or sometimes I even get scared and wake myself up lol)
. Be able to fly (the usual lol)
. Talk to a random dream character
. Go with the flow of the dream
. Role play, become a dectetive and solve a mystery lol
. Be able to look at a place I admire and actually go there in my dream
. Go to new York and swing through the whole city like spider man
. Take a girl that I had a huge crush on in high school on a "dream date"
. Be able to get to know my sub conscious, ask questions about myself
. Find out my creative side. (I am starting my own clothing line, and I have seen pieces that my dreams made up in my dream. Sometimes I present them in a dream or sometimes I see someone wearing them. I want to be able to ask a dream character to show me where my creative mind lives)
. Ask my sub conscious to show me my favorite childhood memory
. Role play in my favorite childhood memory

There are more that I want to do but I can't think of them lol

Also sometimes. I use supplements which help my dreams.

I have used melatonin (amazing affect on my dreams)
I also have a powder based choline bitartrate which I drink in the morning and night. Thi helps me to remember more

Good job on noting your dream signs, and well done on your workbook overall!

So curious, how long have you been taking melatonin? I find the effects wear off after a while. Just wanted to compare notes.

I understand milk products help with that also, production of melatonin.

      Keep dreaming!
