      Apiks' Workbook

      Apiks' Workybooky

      Dream Signs:

School - I often dream of either being in my ex-school or my current one.

      Most often used Reality Checks:

Nose pinch technique - This is the first RC I do everytime I do RC's and has proven to be the most efficent one in my experience.

Hand-through-palm technique - This has had as much success as the Nose Pinch technique but I feel that it isn't just as powerful as it.

      Less used Reality Checks:

Looking at the clock - This has worked almost everytime I have tried it but I do not use it as often as the often used RC's. It has a good rate of success whenver I actually get around to doing it.

      Dream Goals:

      Meet my DG []
      Level and create mountains []
      Stop time []
      Talk with a DC []
      Attempt shared dreaming []
      Visit extraordinary places []
Have an epic battle with some trailer music running in the background []
Have an adventurer tale upto rising as a king []
Pretend to be God among DCs and screw around with them []

      Stabilization techniques used:

Rubbing your two hands creating friction
      - This has had a somewhat success at stopping me immediatelly from exiting the Dream.

Shouting out "More Clarity!" - This has had the best effect on my dream vividness and stability. It works the best from all.

Moving clockwise standing in a spot - This has the same success rate as the "Rubbing your two hands" one has but makes me feel a bit off with my navigation. I wouldn't normally use it since if I loose all navigation it forces me out of my dream.

      Used successful Inducement techniques:

DILD, DILD and yet again DILD - This is the only technique that has actualy worked the best.

False awakening - I don't really know what a FA classification is but I once had one so I'm putting it here.

      Bad points:

Not that good of awareness. I get close but I never actually realize the truth.

Somewhat strange dream recall more inclining on the bad side. I'm hoping this will change when I actually continue my Dream Journal.

Low motivation and will to do anything if I get up 4-5 hours after I have slept. My brain functions like this when I get up - I've had a heavy day an a heavy day awaits me, let's make the best out of this sleep. That in turn is very wrong because I normally don't have that bad or heavy of days. This whole thing in turn makes me very bad for WILDs.

I have a natural hard time falling asleep.

      Reality Checks done:
      29th-30th of June [X]

I will add more things to this workbook when I think of what to and have some progress.

      * X's in the boxes means that it is accomplished.

      Hey apiks! Welcome to DVA

Looks like you got a great workbook started, well done. Question though, when you mentioned awareness, you said "I get close but I never actually realize the truth." What do you mean by that exactly?

And well done again on achieving DILDs. You're sure to have more LDs, whether it be using DILDs or some other technique that is conducive to your schedule. I know what it's like to struggle with sleep, so hopefully I'll have something valuable to share with you to help you on your quest for future LDs

Well it's the feeling that something is weird in the dream and knowing that it is weird but never actually getting around to realize that it's a dream. I get close with the feeling but alas no lucid dreams for me. And sometimes I just have semi-lucids in which I do whatever I would want irl without realizing that it's happening upon my whim.

Dild's are very varied on me. They can either happen or not happen with large time lapses inbetween and mostly they are completely random. I personally wouldn't want to depend on them but if it leaves me no other choice I shall do it. Oh goodie. Maybe this shall prove effective for my sleep.

Hey apiks! Welcome to the class

I have a natural hard time falling asleep.
I had that problem too! D: It would even take me about 2-3 hours of tossing and turning. Then I started reading about relaxation techniques and stuff (just focusing on your breath or counting down). Most of the time now, I fall asleep really quickly already. If you like it, you can try milk before bed, as it is a relaxant (I personally don't like milk a lot haha)

This might help: How to fall asleep faster

      Good luck and happy dreaming!

P.S. I don't think you can edit your posts after a certain amount of time (1 day I think), so if you want anything edited in your original workbook post, you can just ask any moderator to do it for you :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Oh, thanks about the link. I will try it. Hopefully I will be able to actually have some sleep without having the need of going through the whole night ordeal. As for milk, I heard it helps as well. Will try if I can actually get around to finding some.

Yeah, I noticed that you can't change. I'll just ask when I need it to be changed.

Hello apiks, have you gotten your hands on some milk to drink before bed? Have you been able to fall asleep faster? Hope you've been having interesting dreams lately! Keep us updated. Don't be afraid to double or triple post in your workbook either, those rules don't apply so much in DVA.

Ah. Thanks for the heads up Caenis. I was on holidays so I wasn't able to come on DV much but now I am back. It seems that milk works wonders for me so I always try to get before I go to sleep. During my holidays I had extraordinary good dreams but sadly my dream recall still remains bad until I find my dream book. Alternatively I'll start a new one tonight if I can't find it. I can't come to the DV session chats because it's literaly in the middle of the night but I try my best regardless.

I hope you enjoyed your break. Nice that your recall was good during your holiday (vacation, or just a break?). Care to mention one of the interesting dreams you had during your break?

Sucks that you lost your DJ. I hope you find it again. A lot of time and effort is put into a DJ, so I'd be sad if I lost mine. So many dream memories too! Don't worry about not coming to DVA chats, they're not mandatory.
