I'm sorry to hear about the recall slippage! Let's see what we can do.

So if I understand things, you generally take sleeping pills (and have for quite some time.) You experienced a slide in recall and so in order to address this, you stopped taking them. Is that right? Was there anything that seemed to trigger the drop in recall?

As for the sleeping pills and sleep trouble, that part's obviously a matter that you and your doctor will know best how to address. I have a few ideas for "dream recall rehab" that are independent of whatever you decide to do for your sleep trouble.

First, if you aren't yet maintaining a dream journal (written or electronic), I'd definitely encourage you to start there. This is the foundation of recall. Assuming that you already have this, I like the idea of spending a few minutes before bed reviewing old dreams and really thinking about and reliving them. I highly recommend something like the night-time routine that RareCola outlined in this excellent guide: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/night-...cidity-132655/

Next, my favorite trick for fixing "dream recall ruts" is Mastermind's technique of keeping a daytime journal. This helps really train your mind to be more aware and file things away more efficiently for later recall. It has never failed to get me unstuck. Good luck and please keep us up to date as to how things go for you!
