      rumpel's Workbook

Oh hello there. Here's my Workbook.

      Here's the basic info!

      Reality Checks:
I do the 5 Finger Thing with questioning as much as possible around me. So I ask myself how I got here and what I've done and watch if clocks, words or other (half-)static things change. Takes me a few seconds to do the RC. Though, I'm not doing it regularly... 0 - 3 times a day right now.

      Dream Signs:
Well, my dream signs seem to be very obvious. They are always related to my current life, eg. friends, people I dislike, people I fell in love or got a crush on, ... things like these.

      Short-Term Goals:
I'd like to get a decent dream recall and a optimized sleep schedule. That contains adjusting the time I go to bed and trying to stick to it and being able to recall dreams after waking up after a REM-phase if that is helpful.
By the way, I go to sleep between 10 and 11 pm, sometimes a tad later, though. And I usually have to get up at 6.30 am. Usually because I have to get up at 9.30 the next 3 weeks.

      Long-Term Goals:
      Lucid Dreaming!

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
I've got 3 or 4 Lucid Dreams, all DILDs but one WILD on accident.
My recall is, compared to a few weeks ago, a lot better. If I compare the latest DJ entry I had to use a lot more words than before. And I'm almost up to recall at least 1 dream per night.

      Current Technique:
None. But I tried DEILD and like to try it further because as far as I know it's a good choice for me because I often wake up in that hypnopompic state.

So, that should be it for now. If you've got question, feel free to ask! :)

Everything looks goods. The only thing I would suggest is maybe look for more specific dream signs. I find that it's the really odd ones that tend to trigger a DILD. I see my wife in almost every dream because naturally I see her every day. Just seeing her in a dream doesn't do it for me. It's the really odd stuff like, strange things in the sky, people I know are dead, the sun is up at the wrong time, going back to school, pooping in public (yes I know its odd, but that's why it works ) I know my dream signs can't be used for practicing RC's during the day, but I notice them over and over in my non-lucids to the point that I eventually get it the next time it happens in a dream and I'm like, "What's this? This only happens in dreams. Hey I must be dreaming!"

Just a thought. I know you are just getting started and I'm sure the more dreams you recall the more you will notice. Best of luck to ya!

Hi! Alright, I'll read through all my dreams and search for some other dream signs if I can find any when I find some spare time to do that. I didn't recall anything on the weekend but that's probably because I went to bed at 5 and 3 am. I remembered one dream today, though. I'm really happy that I constantly recall a dream when going to bed between 10 and 11 pm. Though, I hope that this will continue when I have to get up a lot earlier soon. And of course I hope that it'll improve. Should I try to wake me up after every dream (cycle) yet? I may risk not to recall anything.

You could, or you could just focus on doing one long WBTB. The few times I had a DEILD was when I woke up after about 6 hours of sleep, stayed up for about 45 minutes, then went back to sleep. Of course results vary for everyone, that's just what worked for me those times.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Yeah I tried that. I mantra'd myself to wake up after 6 hours and to wake me up when dreaming, too. I don't know why I did two and if I repeated it until I was asleep. I was so tired... I will experiment further.

Nevertheless, I recalled a lot. I woke up when my alam was ringing, I turned it off and waited a few minutes and then one big dream came into my mind. Couldn't reconstruct everything because it was so long and much to write down. I also remembered a big dream fragment and another really small 'hint' of another dream. Yay!

On friday morning I recalled a long dream where I was lucid in at the end of the dream. I lost (it vanished) my longboard in a weird basement room, got lucid and made re-created it... then I went out of the room and said 'Stabilize!' while a group of people came by and looked strangely at me. Then a friend told me something and the dream ended. I didn't recall anything today or on saturday due to weekend's fucked up sleep schedule.

Okay... school started again. That means I have to get up 6.50 am. I didn't recall anything in the past week because I went to bed at different (often very late) times. Though, I remembered a dream or fragments of at least 2 this week. So going to bed at the same time every day is good but it's a lot harder to recall if you have to get up and ready for school. So I activated two alarms... one sleeping phase alarm with some calm birdy sounds that gets activated between 6.00 and 6.30 am and an annoying alarm at fixed time of 6.50 am. So I wake softly and have enough time to recall and sleep a bit further till I really have to get up... I'll see how it goes.
