      Kromagno's Workbook

      Hi guys,
For starter I'll thank you in advance for all the help and apologize for my english, it's not my native language.

I saw about lucid dream on 9gag, a year ago, at that time I realized i have already had a lucid but didnt know that it was 'something', I was having a nightmare about some 5 year oldies atacking me and I realized that was insane and i was dreaming, imagined a door get to another room and woke up. I tried three times wild that time with no sucess and was getting pretty scary actually that I gave up without trying harder and no dream journal or any stuff. After that I had another lucid when driving a taxi car I riped part of a house and realized again that I was dreaming, imagined my gf at the car but woke up when she appeared. That was all.

These days I don't know why I remembered that and for coincidence there was, after a year with none, antoher post on 9gag about lucid, I decided that I wanted to have lucid dreams and I would go through all the process and training so I searched about a forum of lucid dream and dreamviews popped up at first.

Read a little because there are plenty of information here, talked to Chimpertainment who helped me a lot and I decided to focus on DILD, trying to all day awaraness a couple times during the day, mostly on my way to college, I'm felling like Patrick Jane doing that haha, anyway, do some reality checks, especially during the awaraness, start a dream journal and try wild during the day when I have the chance.

      Let's start

Thanks again Chimpertainment, just giving an update, I've already started recording my dreams or at least writing that i didnt remember anything haha
But I have been really busy lately with the final exams so I've been sleeping just a few hours, I guess that might have been affecting.

      The lesson I is done.
About what I plan on doing when I get my LD, it's nothing much, I hope to keep calm and be able to look around just, walk a little, then if possible, I'll start to mess a little haha.

I've been doing reality checks I'll days, checking my shadow, trying to blow air with my mouth closed, counting my fingers, trying to remember how i got to where i am and trying to breath with my nose pluged, always asking the questions 'am i dreaming?' before but sometimes asking only in my mind. I've also asked this question when I saw something weird, like other day i saw two women that looked alike with the exactly same cloth walking together haha, that's not much but it's something.

I've been practicing the ADA mostly on my way to college and back home, from one class to another. I've been paying attention a lot more in what I'm breathing, the sounds are kind hard when I'm going to college because of all the traffic noise, but I try my best to try to hear the steps of people who are around, try to locate their shadows, at college it's easy to hear the steps, I try to figure by the sound if someone is going up or down the stairs if is with flip-flops or sneakers, simple things. I try to be aware of my legs while walking of my lungs while breating, that im blinking. I try to take a good look on the environment and the clothes people are using.
Is there anything special that I didn't mention that worths being aware of?

I've been trying WILD everytime Im going to lay in bed, but I'm both mind and body exhausted almost everytime but worths a try, on the weekends I can try it better.

I had been noting for only two days the dream journal, it's been 2 or 3 naps and 2 night's sleep, only remembered that when I woke up today I was thinking about some work group at college, couldn't figure nothing more, so I just wrote that I was thinking about work group. I'll post here the notes when it's been a week even if there isn't much.

Hello Kromagno, welcome to the class!

Good to see you doing ADA nicely. The tip is not to intensely focus on one thing, rather, the aim is to acknowledge the presence of everything around you (and within yourself). What I mean is don't worry about hearing the traffic noises when you're trying to notice your breathing. It's completely fine. Tell yourself, ah i hear the traffic sounds, and ah i see the sparkle in that tin can, ah i can smell the faint trace of lemon in the air, ah i can taste something sweet on my tongue. Basically just acknowledge that those little things you dont normally pay attention to, are there.

As for WILD, I suggest pairing it with WBTB, or do it in afternoon naps. WILD is very hard to achieve at the onset of sleep, though not impossible. If you haven't read this yet, check it out: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...cid-dream.html

      Good luck!

Thanks for the tips paigeyemps, I tried wild twice today, but I guess I was tired, because I fell asleep right away, woke up still in the same position and remained there, but got nothing, just heavy and numb body, and couldn't went back to sleep aware. Anyway, just keep trying.
I'm going to read lesson 2 chimp has posted and the article you commented, I'm sure going to try the wbtb, I'll try this weekend and tell here how it went.

I'm impressive about recalling my dreams, I started a dream journal on monday, before that I didnt even remember a dream once a week, started writing 'couldnt remember' 'couldnt remember', less than a week later and I'm remember the dream almost everytime I sleep or take a nap, last night I woke up 7am, remembered a big dream, wrote down, went back to sleep, woke up later and remembred another big dream haha
I didnt know it would work so quickly.
I'll post here in the wend of the weekend all the records, I'll try to post once a week, i guess it's better than once a day, it's going to be more organized.

Thanks for the help guys, hoping to achieve the first lucid soon

Great to hear about the dream recall. It is indeed amazing how the brain cooperates once you set your intentions

As for the updates, weekly updates would be good too you dont have to post all your dreams, you can simply share the cool memorable ones if you want. Cheers! If you run into any problems or questions, just ask away!

I tried WILD thrice today on naping and got nothing, all the three times I guess i fell sleep in 5 minutes, woke up in the same position and hold still but only got numb body and body aching for staying on that position for almost an hour (belly up), couldnt get myself back to sleep but aware.
Last weekend when I tried I got a little better keeping myself aware, maybe its because im exhausted, havent been sleeping well the days before because of the finals, but now its done, let's see what happens.
By the way, I also couldnt remember no dream from the three naps.

I read about the WBTB from sargeous on lesson II and i'm going to try it today, I read there that it's not very good to wake up with the alarm clock, I didn't understand what he means by 'just wake up' haha how do i wake up in the middle of the night by myself? he said that everybody wakes up several times naturally but dont remember, but how do i control that? Anyway, it's 2 a.m now, I'll leave the window open, so about 7am 8am the sun is going to come and I'll wake with that, I guess it will work, hoping i will have the strenght to get up haha, i'm going to grab a glass of water, close the windows to darken my room and go back to sleep. I didnt understand why should I just go to sleep instead of doing the wild procedure, wouldnt that work better? Anyway, I'm going to do as said and just went back to sleep thinking dreamy things.

      Let's see how it goes
by the way, i liked your signature paigeyemps i like this music haha
nevertheless, sorry for any english mistake, its not my native language, hope it's okay to understand everything that i said

You dont have to stay in that position. It is encouraged that you stay in a comfortable position, so if you feel like laying on your side, go ahead. The important thing, after all, is to go to sleep and you can do that much better when you're in a comfortable position.

I read there that it's not very good to wake up with the alarm clock, I didn't understand what he means by 'just wake up' haha how do i wake up in the middle of the night by myself? he said that everybody wakes up several times naturally but dont remember, but how do i control that?
You can use mantras/autosuggestion for that. Before bed, tell yourself you'll notice yourself waking up, and that you will get up. This may not happen overnight, but the more you do it, the better you get at actually waking up naturally. You can also do the sunlight thing, but make sure to close the curtains right away, because light will make you lose the sleepiness (tl;dr chemicals in your brain that make you sleepy are stopped by light you see). And if you expose yourself to light, you'll have a hard time letting your body sleep during your attempt.

I didnt understand why should I just go to sleep instead of doing the wild procedure, wouldnt that work better?
In order to WILD, you need to have a dream to enter. These dreams where we usually get lucid are in the REM phase of sleep, which typically happens 90 mins into sleep, and get longer every cycle. If we try to WILD upon initial sleep, there wont be any dream or REM phase to get lucid in, and if you do get lucky by having your REM start earlier, it will still last only a few mins. That's why it is best to sleep for a few hours first, since REM phase lasts much longer by then, and we have the biggest chance to get lucid.

Hope this clears things up somewhat, and dont worry about the english, i understand you perfectly

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks it for sure cleared everything up.
I woke up like 5a.m, since it was too early given that i went to sleep 2a.m i didnt try to do the WBTB, but I recalled a dream and wrote it down, woke up again at 8am, but I guess I should have stayed up a little longer, but on wbtb should i wait a while and just went back to sleep? do nothing? Anyway, woke up 10a.m remembered a huge confusing dream, mixing Dragon Ball characters with Dexter tv show and Game of Throne, it was kinda weird haha

But when i lay down ( belly up ) it's easier to keep the awareness the on the side since I sleep on the side, i'll try the other way.

I know it varies a lot, but since the dream recall is working so good, after how many weeks should I expect start having lucids from DILD, from only doing those rc, ada and dream journal?

You can get up, go to the bathroom if needed, maybe drink some water. Just try to stay away from bright lights, and doing anything that makes you too active/awake. It's preferable to daydream or remember your goals, read something lucid-related, etc.

after how many weeks should I expect start having lucids from DILD, from only doing those rc, ada and dream journal?
Like you said, it varies a lot, so noone can really know. Also, DILD is very random lucidity and has to do with luck as well, including how well your mind has adjusted to your routines and how cooperative it is and adaptive to realizing you are dreaming. Perhaps at least one week or two before you start seeing really significant progress and maybe even a lucid! ¯\_(°‿°)_/¯good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Till now I've got no lucid, not a surprise, too soon, but the dream recall is doing great, I've been doing RC and ADA all day but I guess i should do the rc more times.
Anyway, here goes the first week of the dj
If you want to read any but is don't want to read all, read the one about vegeta, it's really weird haha

I'm on my way to college and thinking about some equation from linear algebra that is somehow related to some kind of bomb.
Now I'm entering the first year of highschool of my old town, don't know why, I know i'm not in the first year of highschool but there is a purpose on that, then i'm playing handball and scores a goal.

In the beggining they werent going to kills us, but then I saw a poisoned smoke coming through the ventilation system, like an episode of star wars and I opened the door to try to scape, then started a fight, a guy with a machine always started pointed the gun little by little inside the room but i was back on wall near the door and everytime i saw it i hitted with the cable of a broom, it went like this for some time, then i robbed the machinegun but the ammo run out too soon, when someone that was with me got the ammo the gun wasnt with me anymore and we wente back to hit the gun with the broom, then I got annoyed and just ran and woke up. Don't know why i didnt realize it was dream given that i got annoyed and just ran.

Went back to sleep after that and dreamed that i was going on some family trip with my whole family incluindg my father that has already passed away, we were gonig to some kind of portal to an desert island where we would survive, we were already on the car when i realized i was wearing an Abercrombie dress shirt and a hollister shorts and no survival kit, i just kept thinking that i should get back home and then home i was, I grabed a knife putted in the backpack and suddenly my friend was there telling me if my parentes get to the island without nothing nobody would survive we were planning trying to catch up my family in my friends car but suddenly my family appeared at home they forgot something, then we went back to the car to the island.

i'm walking behind a couple, they are fighting, the guy is screaming with the girl while im talking to my mother on the phone, we are talking about i getting back from my hometown in the end of the weekend, she says she is waiting something to give me the answer if im going back or not, suddenly we are crossing a square full of trees and out of nowhere the guy who was screaming with the girl grab me by the armpits bones, i guess its that the name haha, very hard i scream a lot and wake up scared.

I went back to sleep and dreamed again the weirdest dream EVER, i dreamed that Deb (from dexter tv show) was infiltrated in a house (like the trailer of the new season) and Vegeta (from dragonball that's right lol) was there as a detective without anyone knowing, deb saw him passing by the room and followed him, asking what he is doing there, he explained and they went to the garden so the drugdealer of the house wouldnt catch them, she is somehow liking him (like the new trailer of dexter) and asks vegeta to not bring the swat and vegeta says that he discovered who is behind the attacks to the drug dealer. Vegeta is back to the office talking to masuka and batista (both from dexter tv show) and tell them what deb asked him, batista tells him that he has no way out, he has to call swat and do a strange metaphore something like they have to call the tiger (swat) the tiger is the only one who does the magic(invade the house) they can't interfere the magic and Doakes is watching they talking about that (another character from dexter tv show) out of knowhere the scenario change and we are in a temple with lots of dragon ball characters, and freeza (looks like he died and is now good, like dabura) is singing something about how is good to die and become a good person, meanwhile varys (from game of thrones) is talking to frezza's brother something about getting baby's hair.

I was in my aunt, she lives in the mountain, her part of the family was in the top of the mountain and my part in the bottom, each part lighted some fire, she putted a fire next to a huge glass that was there in a framework, the glass broke. Suddenly im at my grandma with a bow that a friend brought from the usa to me.

Lol @ the casino and vegeta dreams!

Dont forget you can type up your dreams in your own dream journal here on dv. There's a button at the top of the page. You can also share a couple sentences of your latest dream on here: http://www.dreamviews.com/intro-clas...-snippets.html

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Writing it in your own DV DJ will allow other members to read it much easier :3 and you can easily go through them in the future instead of sifting through the posts here in your workbook

But you can also write them here if you wish~

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Got my first lucid today.

I was dreaming that i was in some kind of big room with no furniture and wooden floor, I was trying to run but always falling, it has happened in some dreams before so I realized I was dreaming.
After that, I looked around, couldnt see the end of the room, it was iluminated just in the middle, where I stand, endless wooden floor. I tried to change the scenario but it didnt work, so I decided something easier, imagined a soccer ball and there it was but when I tried to kick, I couldnt move it, it was like an hologram. so I focused on kicking the ball and the ball moving and it worked I played with it a little and it was that I remember.

After that I remembered another dream, long story short, in the end I was riding a horse in the woods and realized, dont know why, that I was dreaming, I kept riding the horse a while but got tired and decided to wake up and I really woke up.

Thats all, couldnt do much but anyway, its a win, my first lucid

By the way, is there a chance that I was dreaming that I was lucid and wasnt actually lucid?

By the way, i'm thinking about trying everyman, having a core nap from 2:00~2:30 to 6:00 and three power naps of 20min from 5 to 5 hours.

Read a little about and lot of people says it works and lots of says it doesnt, only way to know for sure is trying and given that I have always been a night time person and given that I have class 7a.m I cant study at dawn anymore, doing everyman I will be able to study at dawn again which I yield( i guess thats the word) better, produce better.

There is always a chance that you could have had a trick lucid. Using reality checks within the dream or any other focused interaction with the dream environment can help sharpen the dream. The more likely scenario is that your memory of the dream is a bit foggy which is entirely natural with early lucids. Just keep up that work!

Congrats on your first lucid! Don't worry, the first few times are normally uneventful, in other words, crappy. But it will definitely get better once you start having them consistently, and also once you establish some specific goals you are determined to achieve. As for the everyman thing, I haven't heard of it to be honest. Like you said, the best way to know if it works is to try it out! However, don't force it upon yourself just for the sake of lucidity. If it becomes totally inconvenient for you and you end up grappling for some sleep time, then by all means, don't continue. Lucidity comes with patience and effort, true, but I believe it should also be in sync with your lifestyle, and not like a chore where you have to do so much to achieve one.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Thanks.

Just giving a little update, since i came back from the holidays I haven't been recalling my dreams, maybe because in the holidays I didnt do the dj and beer everyday, today i recalled the first dream since then but very little, anyway i guess it's a matter of time.
      No more lucid so far.

One other thing, lately when I'm trying to do ADA i can't keep it for much longer like before, suddenly I see myself lost in other thoughts, I guess maybe it's because the final exams, dont know. I gotta practice it more.

About the everyman routine, worked well on the first day, the second I screwed, every 20min nap became 1-2hour nap haha
Gotta try to fix this, two tricks in mind so far, the best I guess it's to stop napping in bed and start napping on the table. The other one is, only if I'm really tired, just before napping take a caffeine pill, it will take about the time of the nap to kick in, I know it messes the REM but I'll leave to emergencies, better than screw the routine.
      Let's see how it works.

By the way, the dream I had was in one of the naps, I woke up, wrote and when I saw the hour, it had been only 10min since i went to sleep, so I guess that even messed up, the routine is working because I'm getting right in the REM phase.

Giving an update, not much have happened. Not recalling so much dreams

But four days ago I got back on track on the everyday man sleep, it was working pretty well, always awake, but I kept caffeine going because of the finals using about 400mg a day, but it wasnt affecting my sleep quality, i was waking very rested after each nap.
But since the last try on everyman I overslept every nap and I couldnt afford to lose this time with the finals upon me, I got my notebook playing highway to hell loud as hell as an alarm clock haha.
I guess that is why I'm not recalling very well, I wake up with 'adrenaline' haha

Today I woke up not felling very well, having troubles to swallow water, like inflamed amygdala but it seemed not to be the amygdala, I managed to wake up to class but when I came back I decided to sleep a little more and slept for three hours. Felling better now so I'll get back to everyman.

Im impressed by your dedication kromagno, that sleep schedule sounds pretty difficult. Those sleeping times are optimal for dream activity, so I can see the utility. You already have a sleep schedule conducive to dreams, and something else very helpful for any kind of dream activity is a pre-sleep exercise. Using self suggestion, by telling yourself that you will remember your dreams, and that you will have lucid dreams is a good way to improve recall and increase lucidity. Incubating certain dream ideas, themes, concepts, schemas, constructs, etc. can also improve your dream experience. Another way to look at these activities is planting an intention before sleep that your memory will carry out in your dreams. Metaphorically speaking its like a boomerang, because it always comes back around. Anyways, maybe that can be useful.

      Good luck!

      Another lucid )

Just giving an update, the exams are driving me nuts and I went a little sick so the sleep schedule was messed up, but I was able to keep the everyman routine for a few days and as weird as it sound chimp, it was easy, I felt rested everytime and restored after each nap, hell I didnt even sleep on my 7am classes which I used to do when I had a norma sleep schedule. Anyway, given the exams I'm not using the dj and im not remembering to do the rcs and adas during the days. So I'll restart fresh when it's over and I'm on vacation.

Now back to the lucid, it was quick, but the felling was really awesome

It was on a 20min nap
I was in something like a outdoor place to play soccer, but there was no game, there were people walking around, talking, some ballons, like the beggining of a party, i was talking to my gf on the phone and was talking something about picking her up when I realized I was dreaming, at this moment I was almost in the corner of the soccer field and there was a rail with a view to an awesome green field, I went to that rail, noticed a green balloon on the floor, and when I touched the rail, I could really feel it in my hands, it was such a real felling i cant describe, suddenly all the details of the scenario faded, there was just me on the rail looking to the green field, to the sun, I didnt even dared to look around because I knew that I was going to wake up, I tried to focus in one point, but I was losing balance, it looked that I was losing balance because the dreaming was fading, and then I woke up.

Nothing much, but I woke up really thrilled by felling the rail in my hands. Tried to went back to the dream, I could see the view I was seeing before, but it look far away, fading, couldnt get inside again
Any tips on how to make the lucid last longer, to not fade the moment you get lucidity?

Hope it's an understandable text, it's hard to describe such things in an foreign language

By the way, I'm trying the self suggestion.

      Congrats on the lucid!

Have you checked this out yet? http://www.dreamviews.com/attaining-...-tutorial.html

When you get lucid, try to engage your senses as much as you can, to ground you into the dreamworld. Hold objects, lick the ground if you have to hahaa. Use your senses and don't be afraid to look around. Next time, try not to think you're gonna wake up, because in the dreamworld, it's all thoughts, and if you have even a small thought about waking up, that is enough to actually wake you up.

Anyway, good luck and congrats again!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
