      Lightbulb DefineMeAsOne's Workbook thread

      Reality Checks:
-The time check, used to work for me.
-The light switch as well made me lucid in a dream(accidental I don't RC with this in waking life)
      -I look at hands
      -plug my nose
-mental checks(where am I, how did I get here, who are these people?, etc)

      Dream Signs:
-My Sister, Cousins, well mostly my family.
-Environment Changes, I am mostly in my old high school or middle school
      -

      Short-Term Goals:
      -Remember a dream a night
      -
      -

      Long-Term Goals:
-Have 4 LD by end of February(2/4)
-(Really long goal) Have LD 70%-80% of the time.
-(Really long goal) Finish all the ToTM & ToTY.

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
-My first lucid dream was in early 2012 or late 2011. It took me four months to accomplish, and only after letting go(giving up) did my brain give me a break. I had one or two after some weeks or months, to be honest I didn't try. I hesitated to do LD because I didn't want to go against my faith, Christianity. I saw videos that said it was demonic. So I stopped doing it.
I was focusing on school only. I lost my friends, we became distant. And school work didn't provide happiness. I never forgot how great it felt to LD and started doing LD again. This was in summer of 2013. I did some research on LD and it had no mention in the Bible. I also started meditating around that time as well. Most of those fears I had previously were not of my own but other people's fears. It was hard at first to have better dream recall, but I worked hard and I got a few LD. I recently joined LD and had 5 LD in over one month period since joining.

      Current Technique:
      -DILD
      -MILD

      Reason for LD:
      -It's fun
-To know the truth of who and what I am.
-To realize the true nature of reality, and to see illusions for what they are, illusions.

I am taking notes so that I will see this and remember the order or the way I want to do it. So, I want to integrate RareCola's night routine with Sivason's and Evolventity's technique(MIlD technique is my choice to practice). Link from lesson Link

      Notes:
At night do these things 15-30 min before sleep
-Drink enough water to wake you up in 4-6 hours.
-Relaxation or meditation: do mindful meditation or awareness meditation.
-Mantras: say some mantras for some time(min or 2). Say something like, "next time I am dreaming I will realize I am dreaming"
-Visualization: Do a visual visualization mentioned by Sivason. Like become aware of the images in your mind's eye. Then do one for tactile. Here is full post Sivason's Visualization thread
-Dream Incubation: Imagine a dream scenario where you become aware of the dream. Make it as convincing as possible imagine that you are not lucid and you became lucid. Do a reality check in this dream. Then imagine what you want to do. Then go to sleep after about 5 - 10 min of this.
-Make sure that you have drank water before doing this to do WBTB.

      MILD Attempt log #1, Day 1, 02/09/14

So, I was going to cut the time that I practice it like this, 5 min for relaxation, 5 for mantras, 10 for visualization and 10 for dream incubation. I was too sleepy so I did 3 min for relaxation and mantras, I did 5 min of visualization, unknown time for dream incubation.

I slept at 8:50 or something like that. I was sufficiently relaxed. I had some trouble doing Sivason's visualization because when I close my eyes I don't see patterns. I instead get my imagination going wild, I see images of people and things(random). I also caught myself feeling some vibrations but while I noticed them it disappeared.

I woke up at 1:15am to do WBTB, read somethings about WILD. Ideally I wanted to sleep at 3 o' clock. Had a hard time going back to sleep. I couldn't concentrate because I was angry that my mind won't let go of the task of tomorrow. I wrote it down and everything. Well when I managed to fall asleep I lost complete consciousness and not only that I didn't remember a dream when I woke up.

      Welcome DefineMeAsOne!

Yay I'm glad you were able to come to the conclusion that LDs won't interfere with your religion. Good luck with the visualization, it works pretty good for a lot of folks.

Thanks, I will work on that visualization.

      MILD Attempt log #2, Day 2, 02/09/14 - 02/10/14

02/09: I had many good moments to do RC. Nearly got into a car accident while going to church maybe about 3-4 times. I tried to stay aware (ADA) the whole time in church, but kind of forgot the whole practice. Also when I do RC, I get distracted by a thought & I come back to doing the RC but the distractions make it more painful to do a RC.

I normally sleep around 8 or 9 pm, but Sunday I sleep around 10-11 pm, which resets my sleep schedule.I wanted to do the relaxation and visualizations, but I was too sleepy to even think about it. And I have an early class that I have to leave at 7:30 am.

02/10: I woke up with only a depleting memory of a dream. Which I could only sum up to one sentence & a word.

      MILD Attempt log #3, Day #3, 02/10/14 - 02/11/14

02/10: I prepared for sleep early. I made some juice well it wasn't really juice. I took out some avocado and I pealed it. I put it into a paper cup and I grinned it up with a knife after getting the inside. I put a little amount of water in their. I added a banana, and did the same with the banana inside of it. I added a little amount of milk. And I put some grapes, I had to hand squeeze though. After I had some of that I made me some tea, I thought it was the "calm chamomile" but it something else. The tea tasted nasty so I ate some cookies with it. I tried doing a sleep meditation by Diana Winston from UCLA. Maybe this could have helped with my dream recall. I feel asleep before I could commence with the mantras and the visualization. Hopefully tomorrow.

02/11: I woke up and recalled my dreams in great detail. I was conscious after every rem and I kind of thought about the dreams but I accidentally fell asleep without writing it down in my DJ. Until I woke up completely to do a WBTB at 1:10 pm. When I did awaken I went on computer and tried to make some music that distracted me for an hour and half. Then my sister came home and she distracted me. By 5:00 am I went back to my room. I managed to do the meditation. Something I noticed was that after the guided meditation has ended, my mind sort of drifted off. I forgot to do the visualization and I went to bed. Recall for second part of the night was ok.

      MILD Attempt Pro/Cons:
      Pro:
      Recall went up exponentially.
Manged to do meditation and mantras before sleep, after the WBTB.

      Con:
I fell asleep too quickly before doing visualization.
Mind drifted off without me noticing it.
Did a RC in dream but I didn't follow through for some reason.

      MILD Attempt log #4, Day #4, 02/11/14 - 02/12/14

02/11: The stuff I made in log#3 doesn't not increase recall at all. I now think recall has to do with state of mind.I was stressed about my chemistry exam so I didn't have a good recall. I did however manged to go through the relaxation and mantras but I fell asleep in dream incubation.

02/12: I woke up during the night but I woke up too early around 12 o' clock. I went to sleep woke up again but it was too late and I needed to get back to sleep so I won't feel too tired for my exam.

      MILD Attempt Pro/Cons:
      Pro:
Manged to go through mantras this time.

      Con:
I fell asleep in dream incubation.
      I didn't do a WBTB.
Had a hard time doing RC during the day because my mind kept thinking about my exam.
