      MichiganDreamer's Intro Class Workbook

All righty then. I decided to jump into the world of DV Academy! Since I am relatively a newbie as far as LD is concerned, at least in skill level if not duration, I figured that the intro class would be a good place to start.

      Reality Checks:
      - Nose Pinch -- pretty effective. If I try and breathe through a pinched nose, if I'm dreaming, I pretty much never have a problem breathing through it.

      - Finger Pull -- less effective. The finger may stretch some in a dream but generally am not quite sure that it is out of the realm of normal. Kind of strange...it's like I think maybe it's not exactly normal but maybe it is so doesn't quite trigger lucidity. However when this happens I seem to tend to follow it up with a nose pinch.

      - Finger through other hand -- I keep it in my RC repertoire. But it really hasn't proven effective. I only remember succeeding with this once, but was already lucid. Still it was a struggle and happened through sheer will. I wanted to get that finger pushed through that other hand and poking out the back of it, darn it!

      - Counting light bulbs in a familiar fixture -- pretty effective, this started out when I realized that more light bulbs above my parents' bathroom mirror was proving to be a dream sign. This RC works generally, especially in said bThroom, though sometimes I keep counting trying to come up with the correct number and, failing to do so, f follow up with a nose pinch.

      - Am I Dreaming?/I could be dreaming -- I will pause, ask myself if I am dreaming or state that I could be, and come into awareness. I may or may not couple this with any of the aforementioned RC's. I then say something to myself like "when I realize I am dreaming, I will immediately stabilize and work on a current dream goal".

      - Digital Clock -- effective when it occurs, but is less common in dreams as other RC's like the nose pinch. Although I do turn almost every time check into an RC, somehow it comes up less often in dreams. But when it does it is pretty effective. A minute takes less than 60 seconds? Time jumps forward more minutes or hours than it should? Time jumps backwards? Just changes at random? Uh, yeah. Either the clock is severely malfunctioning or it's a dream.

      Dream Signs:

      - More light bulbs in a fixture than there should be

      - Being in school/riding on school bus

      - Large wild animals as someone's pet

      Short-Term Goals:

      - Get good at stabilizing

      - Get consistent with journaling

      - Meet my dream guide

      Long-Term Goals:

      - Fly (long term although I apparently decided to work on it last night upon lucidity)

      - Work on telepathic animal communication skills

      - Like above, meet with deceased pets

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:

      - Generally I'll recall something of a dream each night. Maybe not much always but usually I will at least remember having dreamed, often with some fragments.

      Current Technique:

      - DILD

      - Have occasionally tried WILD, but have yet to succeed and not necessarily something I regularly attempt.

Okay, not a heck of a lot to report as of yet. Saturday night I went to bed around 1am and got up around 5:45am. Actually that would be Sunday morning. Had a little road trip with my mom. And didn't really sleep during those few hours. At least not much and don't recall dreaming. Tried to take a nap back in town but apparently was a little too caffeinated. Went to bed last night I think around 11 or a bit before. Didn't sleep much if at all and don't recall dreaming. Gave up on sleep around 5 or so this morning and tinkered around on my phone but stayed in bed until 8:41. Lo and behold I now think I may actually sleep if I lay back down.

I suspect my body is wanting to be nocturnal. I go through these phases. We shall see what happens.
