      PhiloCat's Workbook

      Hello,
Like i said on Introduction Zone, i'm really glad to be here, very enthusiastic community.
I want just apologize everyone for my english, i'm working on it! My french is still predominant.
I have tried to be LD since 3 days, and i'll start with DILD. I have never experiment any LD, but i can easily remember my dreams.
Here is my workbook now :

      Reality Checks:
      - Hand check (count, form, etc..)
      - Thumb through palm
      - Pinch nose

      Dream Signs:
      - I'm still studying dream signs, i'll update this later

      Short-Term Goals:
Though LD seems really hard to reach because i have started recently, i'd say :
      - Find dream signs
      - Asking myself if it's dream or not
      - Awareness + RC all day long
      - Read and read about LD
      - Improve my DJ (i have seen an amazing tuto here!) and record it here

      Long-Term Goals:
      - First Lucid dream
      - Fly
      - Work on stabilization
      - Dream Yoga
      - Wild
      - WBTB

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
Like i said, i can remember easily my dreams, and they are really vivid, and powerful, unfortunately despite the fantasy, weird, amazing dreams i do, i can't asking myself if it's a dream or not, consequently, i have never experiment any LD.
My wife is natural LD and she's a strong motivation when she's speaking about her dreams (even though they are occassional)

      Current Technique:
      - DILD
      - Awareness (ADA)
      - RC
      - Dream Journal (paper version)
      - Starting meditate

Not a dense workbook because i have recently started. But i hope it will be filled soon !
      Let's practice & happy lucids !

Thank you NyxCC, i'll do my best to realize my first LD.

Last night was a bad night.

Bed time 10.30 PM then i woke up at 11.30 PM and 0.30 PM without dream recalls. every time, i felt back asleep easily, and i finally woke up at 3.30, (alarm clock to work at 4.30 but i didnt feel asleep) and didnt recall either. (my daughter called me, loudly at 0.30, not calm enough to remember dreams i guess )

I keep working on Awareness daytime, and seems to be prolific, i feel more and more comfortable.
I assume LD excitement is probably troubling me. experience and practice should regulate all this.

      Tonight should be more prolific.

Better night, but a little bit disappointed, had started well!

Bed time 10.00 pm : then woke up at 4.00 am (!) with 1 dream recall. I was enthusiastic, but i just dozed from then on. Alarm clock at 7.00 am, then no more dream recall

I'm currently working on it, dream recall + quality sleep, based on Dream Recall Compendium tutorial by StaySharp. Seems a good start, (obviously i'm always practicing Awareness + RC during daytime)

PhiloCat, I read in the intro zone that you work as a nurse, does your sleep schedule vary a lot?

Actually i have to wake up at 5.00 AM three days a week.
I have good night otherwise, like 22.00 PM - 7.00 AM.

The problem now is my loud clock alarm, at 5.00 AM it decreasing my dream recall to ... zero

Bed time 10.45 PM : then woke up at 0.40 am with 1 dream recall way more vivid, and seems longer. woke up at 2.00 (my daughter ^^) and finally 4.45 alarm clock, time to work. (I will put alarm on phone, more silent)

Adding mantra, "ill remember dreams" before sleeping

Good, so you are still able to get some nice sleep. You can consider adding a very small snack before bedtime - see if it makes a diffence for recall. Sometimes the brain needs a little energy boost.

Thank you again NyxCC, actually i'm going to introduct apple juice, i have read beneficial effects from B6vitamins, then i'll see if it makes differences or not.
If no differences, i'll test the snack.

Bed time 10:00 pm : : then woke up at 0:20 am with one small dream, not vivid, and extremely quick. Woke up at 2:40, and worse, i remembered my dream, and wanna notice it, but upon taking pen, pfiuuuu, no recall. I have remembered only one thing, i was in a plane, that's all. Finally woke up at 5:00 am, dozing, and my childrens woke up too at 6:30.

But i suppose that stay on the laptop before sleeping isn't a good idea. Next time i'll give advantage to reading, breathing...

Short night, 10:30 - 4:45. Combined with stressfull conversation with my wife before bed didnt favor dreaming recall.

Bed time 10:00 pm : then woke up at 0:30 am then 2:40 am, without recall, but at 4:00, one dream, not vivid, and not so long, but i have remembered quite well.

Tonight, longer night, should be more prolific.
